People in Australia getting 40% off Pro Staff Racquets

I just noticed Tennis Only (TW Australia) is having a 40% off sale of all their Pro Staff racquets in honour of Roger's birthday.

Doesn't say if it's only for today but while stocks last. Get in quick people down under!

Down Unda, due to 'Australia Tax' we can't afford to constantly chop through gut mains; if you can't copy Fed's set up exactly, why buy the racquet at all? (This also conveniently explains our slow Regor Uniqlo sales.):sneaky:

Haha, I couldn't afford to cut gut mains anyways. I guess cuz I wanna be able to play when it's raining or damp and only cut out the strings or switch racquets after 8 games? Clearly this of course. 8-B

Another retailer in Australia is also doing the same thing. It appears to be a Wilson thing.
You're right. Wilson also have a giveaway for one hand-signed RF97! Glad it seems like it's coming from Wilson, since I'm assuming they will absorb the cost rather than the retailer.

Standard terms. Giveaway is open to all residents of Australia over 18. One entry per person. Open to enter for a week.

So strange only Australia is getting this. Anyone know why? Anyone know if the racquet will be a personal pro stock or a retail stick? They've had giveaways before but I've haven't found anyone here posting that they won or what the sticks were like. Imagine if they were really off-spec.

I guess the sale is due to a substantial lack of sales? I personally don't really know anyone still using a PS, let alone an RF; it's all Blades amongst the Wilson users, with Babolat PDs, PAs and Yonex EZones etc. dominating overall. I do see the odd Speed, and the occasional over 50 with a Prestige, and a few Volkls. (I'm the last Brontosaurus - could have gone T-Rex but people would laugh - with my Princes.)

Could be a timezone thing. We're ahead of the US right? Also, the lockdowns must've stopped sales so 40% is hard to say no to.

I supposed this will be available in the US on our 8/8 as well? Also, with Sunday being closed, how do we call in for matched pairs?

Or can we place the order and then call first thing Monday morning before they get sent out to be matched?

@BoxbeamsFTW I hope you don't mind. But I used the link to your image to make a thread in the TW Comments section to ask them about the AU promotion.

No problem! I was wondering the same thing.

I've heard lockdown actually boosted online sales in many countries including Australia. So I don't think it was a lack of that. Maybe it was a lack of take up of the new paintjob Pro Staffs in Australia. Still kinda strange but welcome anyway from Wilson rather than the individual retailers themselves.

The giveaway only attracted just over 4,200 entries too. I would've guessed it would've been closer to 10,000.

Been playing 17g poly in RF97 - working well. I'm not going to say it's always better than ngut hybrid, but certainly more consistent untill it pops and you don't worry about moisture.

With natural guts it's like a box of chocolates.
