She is not boring to watch.. May we see her get more wins..
Snatch the pebble from my hand, and wins will be seen, young grasshopper.
She's fun to watch but she needs to improve her volley. With her attacking game she could clean up at the net but her technique isn't great. Does she play doubles often? I think it would help her. She has No. 1 potential.
I would agree with this. She puts herself in a great position to come to net (and does so a good bit for the women's game.) She has great instincts for point construction and when to come in. It just seems she sometimes has problems finishing once she's there.
Exactly... Petra hits almost any shots that a tennis player could hit other than putting you 6ft. away from the ball but she just needs to work on them or strengthen them a bit more to be more efficient...
For example her BH slices could take a higher notch especially when she uses it to construct points, open up the court etc... but on her net play, she could be even better with practice if she learnt to transition in a more organized manner... you feel she wants to finish points at the net a lot with volleys etc... but unfortunately she doesn't come every time all that well, doesn't cover very good either and she gets passed very often.
What I really like with Petra is that despite she will come in, there's no kind of hesitation to come forward when there is too, now, she just needs to know the little tricks for when she is up there.
I expect Petra to be even stronger in these already very good departments for 2012... she's really complete, a pure attacking player and her game is in constant progress.
Love the aggressive style she plays, it is very refreshing to see on the tour. I think she will push the pusher out of the number 1 slot next year. She has all the shots and a serve that she can get free points from. Watch out- Petra's got game and she will only get better as she gains experience and confidence.
Shirley Martina N, Sam S, and Amelie M can show Petra the proper technique on her volley. Just needs a partner.
