"Paul [Annacone] knows what it's like, he knows what a great player goes through, and it's really helped Roger in my mind."

Can Sampras ever talk without making references to how great a player he was?

Maybe he is taking a cue from Roger, Roger must have told him people love it when you say things like "I mean, Look, Obviously I played well today, I've been playing well all week, which is quite obvious"

I think Pete's analysis cannot be faulted; Roger played well enough to win the French (if only he had won THAT first set when up 5-2) but ran into a guy who was just too good on clay. Federer, if he carries that confidence onto grass, should be the favourite on a surface he loves (even though he is the third seed). But I think it will not be a cakewalk for him. Roger has somehow got to "want" it more than the other players and fight till the last point (in short, be a "Nadal" when it comes to his mental game). Let's see what happens.

To illustrate the point that Petros' intelligence is failing him. Didn't he also say that Federer could win as many Wimbledons as he wanted? Ol' Pete's a real entertainer! LOL!

Lots of predictions are wrong.

What was the point of bumping this thread?
