So, I always uploaded photos to Photobucket. I can see by all the hosting errors of others who have also. I guess it's time to say good bye and find a new one. Photobucket, was slow as molasses and filled with ads so it's no big loss.

Just curious, whats a good site to host photos from now?

At the recommendation of another user here last year, I started using Postimage.org. Have had good success with that one.

I installed the imgur app on my phone some time back and registered. instead of giving me a screen to upload, it kept showing me content. I finally had to delete it.

I then started using photobucket but am seeing a lot of errors here.

Does postimage have an app. Can one upload to it using the Share button on android ? (I have started using postimage from my laptop, but not yet from my cellphone)

imgur, bro. it's like 2 clicks and ur photo is posted. no need to make accounts nor sign in. no need to worry about others accessing the photo due to lack of account on their end

Well since PB went to crap, I"ve just downloaded any photos from Google photo.. basically cut and paste. Is there a downside, I'm not aware of?

I installed the mobile app but got bombarded by content.

I am now using postimage but there doesn't seem to be an app. I have to copy photos to Google Drive and then upload from laptop

what content you got bombarded by? ads? I have only used desktop version. i suspect you just saw the front page of imgur, which just shows randomly uploaded "public" pictures that are currently trending. imgur is primarily a hosting site, but it also has social media elements to it, hence all the content you're probably referring to.

also depends on what you're wanting to do. you want to just share an image really quickly? you want a place that can store a bunch of your photos that you can come back to at any time?

I usually just do the first thing - make a ******** meme and upload it to imgur. imgur immediately spits out a link and i'm good to go. you can also make an account at imgur and you can upload albums and junk and easily come back to them and re-link them elsewhere. you can set privacy things on your pics as well. man imgur should pay me for this

actually I found another app on andriod play store called "upload to img". Allows me to just upload and then gives me a link i can copy.

I take pictures with my mobile and usually link them here from my laptop. So i still have a bit of an issue there. I guess the only other option is to either save to Google Drive and then upload from laptop, or copy link into Simplenote and access link on laptop.

I have been using tinypic for some years, but yes, the interface is poor and requires too many clicks.

I am liking the "upload to imgur" app.

I recently started photobucket but have quit it, and tried postimage but it has no mobile app.

Photobucket photos have a very short posting timeframe. Many photobucket uploads seem to get deleted by Photobucket itself. LOL!

Finally get a chance to remove all my uploads from $$Photobucket$$. Seems like imgur is the new darling now here in TT? Tinypic is owned by Photobucket, so I'm reluctant to go that route.

I haven't logged in to my $$Photobucket$$ account for so long. When I logged in recently, I saw a tons of Ads -yea, the annoying sensational kind.

Anyone has a quick Pros/Cons of a few of the top current image hosting?

Not sure if only a Mac feature but I don't bother with third party image hosting anymore. Instead, simply right click on desired image via browser and select "copy image address" then copy into image URL function in tool box.

That's not just a Mac thing, but that's only applicable for images that already exists elsewhere (other than in Photobucket, of course) and where the host where those images exist allow you to reference them from forums like TT.

However, if you'd like to use your own pics and reference it inside TT, you'll still have to upload it to a host somewhere.

I do notice that those that post here via Tapatalk have a Tapatalk URL (Tapatalk CDN URL to be exact) as their images URL. So looks like its a feature of Tapatalk.
