This was a pretty wild year, and we got some of the most incredibly fought battles, some crazy nailbiter 3 setters.

Following is the list of some, which in my opinion, are the great 3 setter matches we have had this year. Please note, that I've factored in not just the tennis quality, but also the atmosphere, wild momentum swings & drama. Following are our candidates:-

Djoker vs Rune, pity that Djoker didn't win this one - that last game of the match was epic

However, Rune beating 5 seeded players (#10 Hurkacz, #7 Rublev, #1 Alcaraz, #8 Auger-Aliassime, #6 Djoker) to win the title was amazing and well-deserved. Keen to see how he performs in the slams and MS1000s in 2023.

It was a straight setter with mediocre tennis quality at best
Rafa played much better in Acapulco, and also in IW before injury.

Has to be between Rune-Djokovic and Alcaraz-Djokovic for me. Those 2 matches show the exceptionnal level these young players need to have in order to beat Djokovic 7-5 or 7-6 in the 3rd. Tennis Channel chose Alcaraz/Djokovic in Madrid.
Best straight set match of the year was Djokovic vs Auger-Aliassime in Rome. Insane level specially the 2nd set.
