How about starting. Pickleball Forum here for your sister site...Total Pickleball? There really isn't one yet and I'm sure on time it will grow and be as good as the tennis one. There really isn't a goto pickleball forum yet and you guys should seize the opportunity. I'm sure it would help the pickleball site's business just like the tennis side does. What do you think?

I would second that. Our club just built some pickle ball courts and when I Searched for a good forum for some information there was not a quality forum to be found.

I started playing this sport as well and we can all post reviews about all the various different paddles offered. Too bad with paddles, there are no strings to discuss.

But you can put an image on the paddle, so there is something to talk about. It is another type of frame customization. :)

But they do have different cores, materials, and shapes to discuss. Maybe Head will get into the game so that we can bash Graphene or lack there of on a new level.:D

How about no?
If this stupid sport increased further, tennis might end up in pickles. Imagine hordes of 70+ geezers invading all the local tennis courts...

And the pickle guys should make up their minds, either play tennis or ping-pong, not some ******* game in between...

My guess is you've never tried it or you would know how much fun it really is. And it's not just "geezers" playing anymore.
And you should be happy that it's growing so rapidly, because that would mean more dedicated pickleball only courts and
they wouldn't have to "invade" the tennis courts. In fact, many tennis courts that are unused and neglected and have
been renovated as pickleball courts and now have more people using them playing pickleball.

No I've never played. I'm good at both Tennis and ping-pong, I don't need something in between. However I had conflict with pickleball geezers.

There is absolutely no need for TW to promote/support the pickleball unless they are planning on selling the pickleball gear too. But then, let's have ping-pong, badminton, squash, etc, too...

It's not a variation of Tennis. It's something else... Closest variation of Tennis would be touch Tennis with sponge "red" ball, played in service box only. I'd recommend that to movement challenged people who want slower game on smaller court.

i went from playing tennis for 35 years, which i love..but i joined a pickle ball league over the winter because it was $15 and saved me from boredom..and i was able to make the adjustment from tennis in 5 minutes..it is just like tennis, i was hitting lobs, drop shots, topspin, slice.. all just the same as with a racket.. lots of fun...

Alright, alright! So, yes, we do have a sister website totalpickleball.com that sells pickleball equipment and a forum would be a great supplement. We are still working on the logistics of adding a pickleball forum/thread and are working on setting it up. For those of you waiting, thank you for your patience.

And for those who haven't tried pickleball, I think you would be surprised with how fun it is. The TW playtesters set up a pickleball court on our playtesting court a couple times a month and we can play for hours. Some playtesters have even participated in a pickleball tournament!

Thanks,
Brittany, TW

Thanks Britt!! That would be great.
And you are so right on the money about how much fun it is. I don't see why some tennis people have to put it down. It's not tennis! It's a totally different sport and can be enjoyed by a larger segment of the population. Why would anyone be against a new, fun activity?

You answered your own question right there. It's something else, thus it should not be on tennis forums.
Over and above, there is a conflict of interest over the public Tennis courts. That alone is quite enough for Tennis players to dislike the Pickles.

I've played pickle ball before and I can say that I prefer tennis. But just because you don't like pickle ball doesn't mean that you have to insult everyone who plays it. Please try to be more polite. And anyways, we all understood your views about the game 5 posts ago, we don't have to be reminded every other post.

Don't quite understand where the perception of "insulting" came from?

Uneeded sarcasm: "Ah perfect, all they need to do now is add the forum there"
Insulting: "However I had conflict with pickleball geezers"
"If this stupid sport increased further, tennis might end up in pickles"
"Imagine hordes of 70+ geezers invading all the local tennis courts"
"either play tennis or ping-pong, not some ******* game in between"

I'm done arguing with you, I am going to ignore all of your future comments on this thread.

If the tennis courts were packed all the time, the pickleball players wouldn't be able to convince the town's parks depts to convert them to pickleball or to paint lines.
You only have your fellow tennis-only players to blame.

Anyway I agree, it needs it's own forum and does not belong in the tennis forum. But that was the whole point to this post...asking for a separate forum.

I don't know man... Around here you struggle to find a free tennis court (and we've got tonns) on a sunny afternoon or weekend. They painted pickleball lines on at least 4 locations I know and I have never seen anyone playing, except for one park where there's some sort of socials/league going on.

Wow, 2 years have gone by since this post. Is there any official forum announced yet? Pickleball surely has gained a lot of popularity in recent years and i am also loving this wonderful sport from past 8 months.

Why would anyone be against a new, fun activity?

Because of all the fuc**** pickleball lines painted on my local tennis court. Annoying as hell when playing tennis, and the ball can also skid off those lines.

And, if someone nearby is playing pickleball, the noise is annoying to those playing tennis.

Please play pickleball indoors somewhere - doesn't even need to be played on a tennis court at all. Find some basketball or volleyball court somewhere that is underused...

I fear pickleball. They are very organized, and growing, pushing every town to put those lines on tennis courts. Towns are not going to build them their own courts but are willing to put the lines on what use to be our courts. All sorts of businesses see an opportunity and will take it squeezing out tennis. I know this will get a reaction but I blame ourselves for not changing lots of the things to make tennis more inclusive.

The game is fine, on its' own. I don't care for the lines on tennis courts. I see it as no different than skateboarding on the tennis courts.

They are TENNIS courts.

I don't care for the noise either, but mostly it's the misuse of the courts I don't like. I have no problem with pickle ball facilities
springing up, but please keep them separate.

Enjoy your game. I've played a couple times and it's ok, but the skill it takes is entirely different (less) and the sports are really not similar
at all. It's like standing on the ping pong table ( and yes, I enjoy ping pong as well).

Having said all of that, at the end of the day.....it's good that people are getting and doing something. Just do it on courts designed for such and leave the
tennis courts open for tennis.
