Pics of my new Nike Air Zoom Vapor IV

I just got my new pair of Nike Air Zoom Vapor IV today. It looks absolutely gorgeous! Though I have broad feet, it fits surpsingly well, and I'm impressed with the latest line of Nike shoes as they do fit "true-to-size" including my other pair of Air Max Breathe Cage.

Very nice! :D

How does the cushioning and fit compare to that of your Breathe Cages and Breathe Free II's or III's? I'm thinking of also picking up a pair of the Vapor IV's, but I already have a few pairs of the Vapor III's and I find the cushioning lacking as compared to my Breathe Free II's.

Thanks

Thanks, BP! :)

I've just picked up the shoes and will only get a chance to use it for matchplay in about 2 weeks' time as I'll be taking the family for a holiday next week.

My suspicion is that the fit and cushioning won't be as great as the Cage, BF3 or BF2 as the tongue doesn't look as well padded. The padding on the rest of the shoes is the same: front toe box has the same amount of cushioning to the feel.

The Vapor 4 is also only marginally lighter than the cage and almost undiscernable. These are results when weighed on my digital scales:

Cage - 447gm per shoe
Vapor IV - 445gm per shoe

But what is impressive is that though it looks slightly narrower than the Cage, the Vapor IV actually has quite a wide footprint, and does feel extremely stable.

Will know when it's put to the real test!

Stay tuned ....

Hi kike valerin,

Just to share another tip, in Photobucket, under your picture, there 2 URL addresses, one called "Share URL", the other called "URL Link". You should copy and paste "URL Link" so that your picture will appear in the post as below.

Hope this helps.

Well, if he can afford it, there's no need to explain or justify why he wants to buy 4 pairs! :D

I used to have 3 pairs of Air Max Breathe III shoes myself, but only because I perspire so much that even my shoes get soaked through by the time I finish playing. So whilst the other 2 pairs are drying out, I still have one more to play with.

Wow, kike, you must really love those Vapor IV's! It looks like you have just about every colorway that's come out.

If you've worn the Vapor III's before, could you please compare the Vapor IV's to the Vapor III? Also, if you've worn the Breathe Free II's (or BF III's or Cages), could you please compare the Vapor IV's with those also? I'm concerned that the Vapor IV's might not have as much cushioning as the BFII's. I know the Vapor III's feel like there's almost no cushioning at all in the forefoot.

Thanks! :D

What's the difference between the $110 Air Vapor IV and the $70 Air Vapor IV TD, other than the TD is 40 bucks cheaper and 3 ounces lighter?

I boughty mine yesterday. Been wearing Vapors for a while now and they just feel so good. Very stable and low to the ground. I would try the cages but they look too much like a running shoe and side too side movement doesn't appear to be as stable as the vapors. I'm may be dead wrong, but bottom line, if th vapors feel good why change... right?

My assumption is that TD stands for TakeDown. Kind of like what the Tirands are: the same styling and looks without the performance. Take away the extra midsole and outsole materials, and you have a shoe that costs less to make that is lighter but is much less comfortable, durable, and performs far less well than the real Vapor IV or the real Barricade IV.
