Pierre is the man

Time has come to honor one of the most influential people in Roger Federer's career. This slam (AO 2017) belongs to the absentee master of building robust long-term physical condition.

Pierre Paganini is a humble guy, always shy to speak to the media, rarely present in the box and never one to take success for granted. But now, 18 slams (plus Wawrinka's 3) into his career, we have to recognize the immense work going into optimizing the bodies of two Swiss athletes and multiple grand slam winners.

Roger was feeble and prone to lose physical matches up to about 2001, when he decided to trust Pierre with rebuilding his condition over the course of an entire year. Who knows if he would have one even a single of his grand slam titles without him.

Thanks, Pierre. You are the best. Your work, the foundation for the comeback of a 35 year old top player, couldn't have been any better.

Pierre: "Federer feels like 25"

Boy, did he believe what he said or what.

This man is an absolute genius and I think the most underrated, unnoticed figure in men's tennis relative to his deep impact and understanding. How he understood the material he was dealing with (Roger) in all his multi-athletic features and modelled the work regimen that'd optimize him as a tennis player... not only early on in Roger's career but to keep doing it to this day, adapting and improving exercises and routines for the physical condition and shape Roger stands currently at age 35...

He's superb. The artist behind the artist.
