Played my very first competitive match at the age of 31...

    ...and I got creamed by counterpuncher.

    I didn't play badly but my otherwise effective S&V game was completely nullified on the slow clay court. He was good counter puncher. He hit fast paced, sharp and low returns off every serve and precise and hard passing shots. My only dissappointment was that I couldn't do better off his rather weak serve, but my chip n' charge attempts were as futile as my attacks on serve. Not much else to say.

    I was older than 31 when I played my first competitive match in some type of official setting. I played some 50 year old guy with a potbelly. He played a junkball style and I seriously underestimated him although I ended up winning 7-5, 6-3. It was a good lesson for me to always respect your opponents.
