I played with the 16g hurricane tour today in my Yonex RDX 300 strung at 56lbs, i played with it once b4 and i didnt really like it, it did actually feel like hitting with a 2x4, i thought that was just a figure of speech;). But I went out 2day and my god, it was amazing, it was less harsh on my arm as the first time i used it as my arm and my wrists killed, but i was able to hit every forehand shot hard and keep the ball in, it was actually really fun, and normally on my second serves i have to hold back a lot, but i didnt have to 2day, because the ball doesnt bounce loads off the string, and the spin was good aswell. Also my backhand slice felt cut, i actually felt that i could take big cuts at the ball with my slices. I just thought i wld share that with you just in case if anyone was wondering what the string was like.

I've just now finished stringing 16g hurricane tour (55 lb main) with Gosen sheep micro syn 17g (58 lb X). Going to test it tomorrow as well as the SPPP/Gosen combo. I'll post some reviews later.

I've used the tour 17 in the mains with synthetic crosses at 57lbs and 60lbs.
Its a solid hybrid but a little underpowered in an Nblade98. I liked a gut main tour cross hybrid as it had good power and control. I think tour is a niche string to be used to power down a racquet or control a power main string like gut. It has good tension control but for me its overpriced.

I played with pro hurricane tour 16 at 53 lbs, they were good but, trying to find more feel i made an Hybrid with tour 16 like mains and wilson sensation 15l like crosses all at53lbs.Amazing power, feel, control and spin ALL PERFECT!!!I'm just looking about their durability, if is good I'm gonna make it my sting set up!

This was the first time i had used a poly and despite it not being nadals string you can really see why he would use such a dead string, you can repeatedly swing really hard which is pretty cool, so i may try duralast next, shame they dont sell it on TW. But what more do you guys get out of hybring the string with a gut or any other soft string? i have not experienced good comfortable strings before so i dont really know what im missing out on, is it just the fact that it is more comfortable? cos i think i can deal with the stifness.

cheers

This is the best string out there. I see why Nadal uses it on his whole stringbed. This string is a topspin players godsend!
Nadal uses Babolat Duralast, which is the same color. Apparently, Duralast has less power, which Nadal likes, because he supplies his own.

Duralast is not the same color as Hurricane Tour...

Duralast is clear and more gold
HT is opaque and lighter yellow

Oh man I am crushed! this is NOT the string he uses? Oh man... I was dueped. The ad on TW for this string says it is the string Nadal uses.
See quote from TW ad below:

Babolat Pro Hurricane Tour 16 String
Price: 11.95

Pro Hurricane Tour is the string of choice for Rafael Nadal and Andy Roddick. Nadal uses this string for the entire stringbed, whereas Roddick uses the this as a hybrid with Babolat VS Gut in the cross strings.

There is more. You have to see a huge poster with Edberg and his straight beam 6.0 85 painted with PS Classic 6.1 colors.

I had a full job of BPHT on a N6.1 Tour 90 at 55lbs and I didn't like it because it was harsh on my shoulders and the feel of it wasn't very great. Once you go gut, you can't go back. I do have a hybrid gut with BPHT and it feels much better.

If you can tell the difference between Duralast and Pro Hurricane then do you know what Roddick was using in the Tennis Masters Cup. Looked to me he decided to go an all poly job for a change

Just put hurricane tour 16 in my Wilson NCode 6.1. - w/ gosen micro 16 as crosses. Have to say first 15 minutes the racquet launched the ball all over the place with less spin than I am used to with my normal setup, which is hurricane (old school) 17 and gosen micro 16. Does it get better? Or should I just cut it out. Thoughts? Should I drop down to 17g Hurricane tour?

I have 2 sticks testing both BHT & SPPP both 17G with crosses Pacific Natural gut 16G Tension are identical (54/56 lbs). What I discovered is the SPPP is a better string than BHT in so many way. So I am just waiting for weekend to replaced this BHT with another SPPP it is just a waste of money atleast I had the comparison that I did myself which is very important as everyone has its own preferences. So my advice try the SPPP with the same set up and you can see/feel what I am talking. Strangely enough the BHT is cheaper here in Hong Kong than the SPPP this is due to the agent selling here in HK. Hope this could help you alot.

I also have just finished testing this string. I have the complete opposite opinion.

When I first tried this string I absolutely LOVED it. I felt it was explosive and the control was absolutely amazing; however after a few more days of testing I had quite a different view.

Despite all the ad's this sting just does not have much spin at all. It does not grab the ball very well and there are certainly far better strings in the spin department.

Babolat was very lively and the control was great...but it was a very stiff string and it was quite uncomfortable. It had very "boardy" feeling.

All in all definitely a very good string but there are far better strings for far less money.

RAFA had tried to switch to Pro Hurr tour in the practice cause Babolat wanted to put his name on it had made the 15L gauge. but RAFa could not control the shots, shots flying everywhere and so on. Duralast takes all the power out of the racket and gives RAFA precise control...:D
