I recently joined the USTA to play competitive. Now i have trouble finding any team that needs a new player. Any team out there needing me to play? I live in Renton washington. 3.0 rating. any help is appreciated! thanks!

Did you contact the League Coordinator as suggested earlier?

And you may have trouble finding a team as unless you are wanting to play Mixed, teams are not playing right now and may not be forming for a couple months.

The LC should put your name on a list of players looking for a team that is shared with captains, but you may also want to speak to someone at the clubs near you that have teams to find out who the captains are at those facilities so you can contact them.

Tough to get on to teams as a free agent. I would also suggest playing some tournaments to meet people and potentially a club. Go to socials, talk to people and let them know you are looking when asked.

I would agree. It's hard to get on a team from my club because they are kind of cliquey.

Also, when you join, do not expect anything in the results department. Do not be discouraged by yours, or by anyones performance. Join any random team to get a feel for how things work, to get court time in an actual league setting, and see how you do. Once you get used to the setting you can ask specific people about joining their team. Dont forget to ask early! Sometimes rosters fill fast (doesnt mean fill to the max) so if you really want to be on a specific team, start to ask at least a month before the league starts.

check out the local league in your area and visit some of the teams playing locally and try and talk to the players and captain.

Also, your best bet is to be available for away matches or fill-in. Everyone on the team is magically available for home matches so if you go to away matches it will help get you more court time as time goes by if the captain appreciates that kind of thing.
