Player who always foot faults

I know a person who pretty much always foot faults on his serve. Just about his whole foot goes over the line. I was playing him on Monday and he has a good serve, but he pretty much always foot faults. I don't want to be a b*tch and call a fault every time but its blatantly obvious. People have already told him about it, but the faults still occur. When I played him it bugged me knowing that he was faulting but not wanting to say anything. What should I do?

I would remind him of the rule before the match, and let him know you will be enforcing it. After that, if he does it call him on it>> or as kingdaddy said, get an ump.

The other thing you could do, if you don't want to call him on it, is serve from about 2 feet in front of the baseline. If he calls you on it, which I'm sure he will>>> take the opportunity to let him know he is doing it as well.

^^ You snooze you lose.

I actually saw that once in a Braden video. I then tried it in a match and it worked. LOL

If you're playing for ranking or in a league or something where winning counts for something, I would follow the previous advice and let him know you'd be enforcing it.

But if you're just playing a match for fun and he's a nice guy, I would just let him know up front that you notice his foot faulting problem. If he's gracious and says something like "yeah, I know, but I haven't had a chance to work on it to fix it yet, but I will", I'd just consider giving him a 'handicap' and play on. That way both you and he know that even if he beats you, it's not a legitimate win because of his handicap. That way, you can get past it and enjoy the game and it doesn't seem like you make a big deal out of it by calling him out every time.

Playing in a 3.0 mens league this year and there are tons of guys who foot fault everytime. I even have one on my team. :D

In a college match i double faulted cause the official called it on me on my first and second serve. After that I just took a half step back and won my service game cause I didn't let it get to me. After the match the official said I adjusted well and I didn't footfault anymore. Such an easy fix and it doesn't even require you to really change anything in your serve if you do it this way.

Well if he's not footfaulting that bad, don't call it. If his foot is all over the line, you should. But if it grazes it, I don't think it'll make that big of a difference.
