Wondering what player has the record for most victories over current/future champions at a Grand Slam.

At the U.S. Open, Sampras defeated 8 - Wilander, Lendl, McEnroe, Agassi, Safin, Hewitt, Rafter, Roddick.

By comparison, Djokovic - 6, Federer - 5, Nadal - 3

Nadal has beaten Hewitt, Federer, Djokovic, Murray, Wawrinka, and Del Potro at the French so I don't know what this count is all about

And if you include future champions then we need to wait at least 10-15 years for the final count on the Fedalovic generation

Couldn't Sampras's count be higher because their were more slam champs in his time yet through Djokos entire career we've only had; Fed, Nadal, Stan, Cilic, Delpo winning slams?
Increases the chances if various players are winning. E.g. I'm sure on the WTA players have more wins cause there's always a new one time slam champion around the corner. Pennetta, Stosur, Ivanovic, Bartoli, schiavone.

Edit: unless you're counting multiple wins over the same player but surely the numbers would be higher then..

Pretty sure it's Sampras - Connors beat 7 current/future Open champs - Mac, Lendl, Edberg, Orantes, Vilas, Nastase, Rosewall - at the event, and Lendl had 6 - Connors, Mac, Edberg, Becker, Agassi, Wilander.

Lots of folks with Fed at 5: Mac 5 - Connors, Lendl, Wilander, Edberg, Nastase; Agassi 5 too (Connors, Hewitt, Federer, Becker, Edberg). Interestingly, Borg, who made 4 finals at the Open but never got over the line there, also has wins over 5 champs there (Connors, Laver, Ashe, Orantes, Nastase).
