Another height post, a very underrated factor still.

Medevebear's complete and utter failure may be surprising (embarrassing score line in the AO finale) but his defeat as such may not be surprising at all - if we take these numbers into consideration:
Medvedev 0-2 -------- new tally
Zverev 0-1
Soderling 0-2
Cilic 1-2 ----------- won his only slam playing a newbie pigeon
Delpo 1-1
Safin 2-2
Martin 0-2
Verkerk 0-1
Anderson 0-2
Krajicek 1-0 ---------- playing a laughably weak, lucky pigeon
Ivanisevic 1-3
Birdy 0-1
A. Medvedev 0-1
Philippoussis 0-2
Rusedski 0-1
Overall: 6-23
Vs GOATs (Federer, Djokovic, Nadal, Sampras, Agassi): 2-18
Vs non-GOATs: 4-5
Case closed. Only once this era ends (who knows when... 2027?) we might have a lot more tall slam champs, simply because most potential young(er) ATGs are quite tall i.e. by default rather than because tall players will have learned to beat those within the ideal range (185-188).
