I’ll start:
Nikolay Davydenko
W10.Berdych
Wut?Cedric Pioline and Marion Bartoli
Wut?
Well, Laurel and Hardy then too.Never happened
Cedric Pioline and Marion Bartoli
Ahh, you're right, had forgotten about that. I guess he really never "showed up"W10.
Birdy showed up, but what killed the title for him was that Rafa showed up too.Ahh, you're right, had forgotten about that. I guess he really never "showed up"
He was a WTA player. Would have won several slams there.Davydenko had plenty of chances. He wasn't good enough. Not like it was bad luck.
Tommy Haas
That's actually a good pick. I often wonder if he managed to sneak past Fed at the 09 French if he could have gone all the way.
What a feel-good story that would've been. That's actually a good pick. I often wonder if he managed to sneak past Fed at the 09 French if he could have gone all the way.
Wimbledon 2010, runner-up to Nadal.Berdych
Pretty clearly it’s players who were greatly talented and who had some memorable slam match wins, but ultimately came up short of making a final."deserved"???????
Noah & Leconte could have won the 1985 US Open Doubles title, but lost focus after a controversial point in the middle of the match against Flach & Seguso.
His only chance was the FO 2005 SF. But since he lost to a doper we could cut him some slack.Davydenko had plenty of chances. He wasn't good enough. Not like it was bad luck.
What do you mean by the word "deserve"?I’ll start:
Nikolay Davydenko
Tommy Haas
Tim Henman
What do you mean by the word "deserve"?
What merits did the Russian do, according to you, to deserve to be in a final?
I can't find any but maybe you can find the reasons.
Davydenko has 4 slam semis, 3 masters, a WTF and career high no.3 in the world. Also a top 10 player for 4 straight years. What do you mean by the word "deserve"?

That doesn't mean much if the player doesn't show what this class is made of, in tournaments where he should reach his highest level.Davydenko has 4 slam semis, 3 masters, a WTF and career high no.3 in the world. Also a top 10 player for 4 straight years.
Players with significantly weaker resumes have reached slam finals. Even Anderson has 2.
I had forgotten about that match.davydenko lost in 2005 french open semifinal in 5 sets against a DOPED player. in 2007 he played really amazing against federer in the semifinal, much better than some players who even won the french open
I’ll start:
