Because they were both consistently at #2 and #4 so have to play semis
Actually, draws are sometimes 1-3 2-4, sometimes 1-4 2-3.

Nor is it true they were nearly always ranked 2 and 4, that is nonsense.

The fact they never played a slam finale is just a statistical anomaly. They do exist.

Would have been a very predictable finale, at any slam. Guess who´d win?

Hint hint he is a lefty.

Among the guys that could've won many majors if the big three never existed. Names that comes to mind are Ferrer, Berdych, Roddick, Murray of course... Who do you think would have been the GOAT of the 2000-2019 era in that scenario?
This has already been covered statistically:

Basically, Murray would most likely have ended up with 9 or 10, Wawrinka with 5 or 6, Roddick with 4, Hewitt 4, del Potro 3 or 4, Berdych 3, Cilic 3, Ferrer 2 or 3, and Tsonga 2. Gasquet, Monfils, Raonic, and Soderling would all likely have 1 or 2.
