Playing without no replacement grip

Hi guys,

I have WIlson ProStaff 97 v.12, 315 g, 16x19. The racket is great for me, but too heavy. So I tried to play without replacement grip, only with overgrip. Its not possible to play one hour - my hand (fingers) are suffering and pain is intolerable. Any tips for it?
(I don´t want 280g version etc.) F. e. - I tried to put cotton wool under overgrip. But no results.

Thanks for advice. :)

Without using replacement grip, size of handle shrinks. You may be gripping the handle harder to keep from losing the racquet. Switch to 18 ga OGSM and put a replacement grip back on. I would also tell you to make the racquet at least 12 points HL.

Easiest is to add another overgrip

Sell it on this site's used rackets and stuff. Use the money and get a proper racket. Life is too damn short for a lousy equipment.

That said, right after posting this, I'm gonna order a 17g reel instead of putting up with 16g string setup. I've had such a good time with it.
