Playsight

hi TW crew, you have been using your playsight now for a good while and while I know you are not a stockist of playsight I have some questions for you on it as I have not got too many answers in the normal threads about playsight. I am interested in purchasing one and I don't think as of yet ere are any in Australia so I would be unable to try before I buy. I run a small club with an indoor an outdoor court with about 150 students having coaching. I'm thinking this may attract some more adult and intermediate/ advanced players to use our facilities. From what I can gather there is a purchase/ installation fee and then an ongoing subscription/hosting fee. Obviously it would need to be successful to cover all the costs involved. I'm wondering how much of it is gimmick effect where the player may use it one or two times or if it is the type of thing where once you have used it you want all your practices to be on a playsight court enabling repeat custom for my centre. Your thoughts as users of playsight would help me greatly. I'd also be interested in how many different drill combinations there are etc for players that are sparring and if those same drills can be used in 'fed' type exercises. I've watched all the videos you have made regarding playsight just hoping for some extra information. Thanks

Crisp,

We love Playsight on our court! Between the 10 playtesters, I would say it gets used several times a day as well as we use it for playtesting video stats. I personally use Playsight at least 1-2 a week. I use it to make drilling more fun (crosscourts) and use the Drill feature a lot to compete against other playtesters (who can get to 50 balls first deep in the court). I also use it for match play as I found it very beneficial to review my data after a match (from consistency off each wing to serve percentage and placement). There is so much data to look at after and I can compare it to previous sessions. Additionally, I found out that I call a lot of serves in that are long and it was fun to have serves called OUT by the machine for you when you play (you also have the option to turn the audio off). As a coach, there is plenty of options including slo motion features to evaluate strokes.

You can watch all of our videos we have done on Playsight here:

I would also contact Playsight for more information on pricing and set up.

Thanks,
Brittany, TW
