That's very lucky! I was impressed when Elias Ymer managed to qualify at all 4 slams in 2015 but this is even crazier...have to win two rounds (skill) then lose 3R, then be one of 16 losers to get the call up.2018 Lucky Loser:

Dancevic did it in 2011 first before Ymer. That's very lucky! I was impressed when Elias Ymer managed to qualify at all 4 slams in 2015 but this is even crazier...have to win two rounds (skill) then lose 3R, then be one of 16 losers to get the call up.

A lucky loser indeed. If I had his kind of luck, I'd be buying a whole bunch of lottery tickets.2018 Lucky Loser:

USTA gave him a WC and then a winnable 1R vs Kukushkin. That's a $54K gift plus a chance to add $39K for winning one match. Not bad for a career high #135 player.Little Noah Rubin made the main draw !!
CYLLGS, which is much more impressive than CLLGS.Pete Polansky the career Lucky Loser Slam, lol!
That is almost as good as Tipsarevic completing the career and then golden retirement slam a few years ago.![]()

Kuku needs the extra $ for more frequent restrings at 35#.Kuku didn’t get the memo.
Both Rubylev and Cecchinato Polanskyed to ATP250 clay titles, their first career trophies.Henceforth, a lucky loser spot may be referred to as a "Polansky".
For instance:
He lost in the final round of qualifying, but there is still a chance he could get a Polansky into the main draw.
The Kokk did the first required step. Now we need some withdrawals and some luck.I'm cheering for the streak to continue!
No one deserves a Polansky more than Polansky!

You don't understand the streak. He lost
But the question remains....can he pull a Polansky yet again? You don't understand the streak.
He 'always' loses 3rd round qualies...and makes it in the lucky loser route. This is what he does.![]()

Seeding is slightly irrelevant; it is a random draw of the top 4 seeded LLs so nobody can pull a Gimelstob (Wimby’05).It's not going to be easy - there are two players seeded ahead of Polansky who lost in the final round of qualifying. But it should be noted that Polansky did everything he could to secure a spot as a lucky loser, so it's likely that after his loss today, he left the court with no regrets.
Thanks - I new it was random, but I thought it might be weighted to give a better chance to the highest seeds who lost in the third round of qualifying.Seeding is slightly irrelevant; it is a random draw of the top 4 seeded LLs so nobody can pull a Gimelstob (Wimby’05).
