It depends.

If Struff wins the Madrid, he might be the best in form German tennis player at the moment, as it will give him great boost of confidence and momentum and he might continue to do great.

If he losses, he'll continue his mediocre career.

Im German, and i like Struff very much, but for the last few Years, Zverev was clearly the best german player. But its good to have a few more, as Tennis in germany needs clearly a few more heroes.

Lol at no-titles-Struff winning the poll against a guy with 8 big titles to his name and still ranked 49 places above him!! :p

Best German player? Unequivocally, Steffi Graf. Second best, Becker. Third best, Stich.
Incorrect.
The best German male tennis player until the appearance of Boris Becker was Baron Gottfried von Cramm.
Two-time winner of Roland Garros, three-time Wimbledon finalist, US Open finalist, Australian Open semifinalist, he was also the first tennis player from his country to reach the number 1 in the world in the year 1937.
Although he will be remembered for being against the Na-zi regime.
The story of this great player is extraordinary, worth having a documentary.

Isn't Zverev really Russian? Struff has been a dangerous player to face for a long time. I am very happy to see him have a great run in Madrid.

I thought we were talking subjectively. Interesting story though. Will look him up.

All time: 1. Becker 2. Gottfried von Cramm 3. Nüsslein 4. Stich, 2 and 3 are interchangeable.

Out of active players, it is still Zverev.
