Winner Sinner

Hall of Fame
It's not a poll about which player you think was the best, but which one you like the most.

The other two remaining first rounds of the top part of the main draw also concluded ( https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/ind...lcaraz-13-and-7-connors-vs-mcenroe-10.781787/ ) with the winners (4) Sampras and (10) McEnroe who form the other quarter-final of the upper part.
Now it's time for the lower part where we have the most vintage player of the competition, mister "CYGS" Laver opposed to one of the most loved tennis players in history also for his unconventional side, Agassi.
While the other challenge is entirely between compatriots and concerns the most popular player in the world, the one who has won the recognition of the most loved player by fans continuously from 2003 to 2021, Federer, against Wawrinka.

The difference in votes between Federer and Wawrinka in this poll is even more overwhelming than the career h2h between the two (22-3). :)

As much as I deeply respect all of Laver's accomplishments, racket talent (and watch as many clips as available), I can't vote for him over Agassi as a "favourite" as I never got to see him play live. That's the most important component of this for me - needs to be a lived experience

Is there anyone here who saw Laver live? Maybe the couple 70 year old posters here...

Great idea, but we need more than 16 players. ATLEAST 64. Federer win at the end.

Where are: Rafter,Safin,Ivanišević,Lendl,Nalbandian,Courier,Moya,Blake...

Laver/Agassi is an awful first-round matchup. Feels terrible to vote against either. and you don't have to have seen Laver play, just understand his well-known legacy.

Agassi was most mainstream popular and loved and charismatic . Tennis’ “bad boy” and Hollywood. Laver was around before media popularity exploded. Fed was more uptight and a little snobby and less media worthy than Andre and way less charismatic.

Agassi hands down. He’s way more In tune with the common man. I can relate to Agassi as most humans can. . The ups the downs the trials the tribulations the substance issues. etc. normal HUMAN things. The rise and fall. . I can’t relate to Federer at all LOL. Like Sampras he was more of an enigma off the court. And not identifiable thus less loveable. Just too “PR” for me.

Even if you look back. That ‘99 French open. Even though I finally wanted Sampras to cross the RG finish line. I freakin balled when Agassi won it. That was a classic redemption story. From the gutter back to the penthouse and winning the career slam on top it finally

I can relate to Nadal. Similar Human issues impacting his career. I can’t relate to some science experiment like djokovic that eats rabbit food, hangs out with dictators on his time off and does yoga and weird new age crap in the Serbian mines and is just an all around oddball . Like WTF.

Sampras was my favorite player but even I can’t blame someone for not liking him. He was a mystery. He didn’t even stay in NY when the US open was going on. He stayed in Long Island cause he hated media. . Fed was a mystery really. Djoker was a complete weirdo. Sinner is an odd ball. Boring game and he wanted to ski for a living instead of playing tennis? . They just didn’t have the relatable qualities of an Agassi or Nadal etc. I can easily see why Carlos is the most popular in the game today and why sinner is a snooze for most people even if sinner is a better player

It's less about him being impopular and more about Rog being popular.

You’re surprised- for real?

Do you mean just among TTW fans?

The dude won almost every “fan favorite” and sportsmanship award for like two decades.

On one international poll he was voted the 2nd most respected person on earth.

It'd be weird to call him your favorite if you haven't seen him play. He'd be your favorite because of his achievements.

I guess the Fed might have won some other things?

But maybe he only won Wimbledon. Which no one ever talks about. It's not very well known.

So yeah, you're right. It is crazy he's so popular.

We need more of that lit AO energy!
