Just out of curiosity, how old were you when you had your first official SO (of course those puppy love flings back in grade 7 do not count).

They're a ton of options on the poll since everyone is different when it comes to stuff like this. I know someone who's in their 50s and their first official relationship occured when they were like 47, while I know someone else who had their first SO at 14 so it varies greatly.

Met at 6 years old. Kissed at 9, and did not see her again till college.
That was like my first relationship as well. Grew up playing in the sandbox together. Drifted apart but stayed friends due to her moving. Went to HS prom together . Reconnected 4 years later and dated. Grad school for me law school for her resulted in drifting apart again . Good friends now though. No animosity post break up which is rare .

Those are. It is funny, I had some bad break-ups, but as the years pass you actually forget about the bad stuff and remember the good parts. Weird.

I often fall for brainiacs. To answer the original question, I was 15- 16 years old my first time. I would totally fall for an AI with a voice like Sinatra's (I can set it I suppose) with a Brit accent who can speak like a geek or croon for me depending on my mood :D
Yes, I like the idea of it (I know it is a selfish relationship) as I can have legitimate conversations with myself essentially yet, not know what the incoming responses will be. The conversations I would have would be addicting.

I also would become attached as I would be interested in knowing what their thoughts are on things.

Now, on the voice... maybe Alexis Bledel?

17. Still with him 29 years later.

I don’t excel much in the people department .
I have been on a few dates and I felt like I wanted to hang myself after !! She may have felt the same !!
I am happy with as little contact as possible with anyone !!!

You asked me out on the Confession thread. Granted, things didn't go well after that. Mostly your fault.

But if we're to go out, what would we talk about? I have a bad temper, btw. I might slap you silly if you said something utterly foolish and then bragged about it.

Your very own Ex Machina?
Did you talk about the kiss?
Yes, my very own, that does not try to kill me.

Yes, I did not recognize her as I had not seen her in 11 years (always thought about her though), and then she was at one of my college games and waited after to talk to me. She said do you remember me? I was like no, and she said "do you remember your first kiss?" Then it hit me ha.

So she remembered you while you didn't and only remembered at the mention of the kiss? How typical!

When did you get married? How long did you date her before getting married?

4 years, and she literally looked nothing like she used to. But I was also just taken aback and we were both from Montreal so I did not expect to know anyone at college.

I was a Junior in HS and she was a Freshman. She moved away and we had a long distance relationship for almost a year after. I still talk with her and crazy to see where we ended up 30+ years later.

I was in my early 20's when a cougar went for me. It was an interesting time, a learning experience. I had good neighbours.

Never seen a cougar go after a crocodile... figured they would go after coyotes more... odd.

Things are different in down under - don’t you know?

Anyway, is the cougar term is a bit degrading maybe? What are those men called when they date women 20 year younger than them?

I think they are called Toolies. There are also Panthers.

What’s the difference between the two?

What are the called in NA I wonder. Cougar seems to be universal.

I don’t know why we must label everything though.
Actually I remember now, a guy who dates a woman 20 years younger is called a Sugar Daddy. Difference nce between Cougar and Panther is the age range of the woman with the Panther being in the next 10 year bracket I am told.

Oh right. I too recall now. Chadelina recently called someone sugar mummy or something like that. Can’t be flattering. Sugar Daddy sounds god awful.

The panther thing is still new to me. Good to know.

Yeah on 60 minutes here they did a documentary about a guy who set up a dating website called Sugar Babies where older men, sometimes old men pay and spend big money on young women who also sign up. Both men and women involved were interviewed by the show.

Same here.
Science has been my 'significant other' aince childhood. Started with a.s.stronomy, my first love.
Long distance running was another significant other for a long time.
Then computers (specifically Unix).
