Raonic did a great job in beating the US Open GS Champion Andy Murray.
Nishikori is playing his best game right now, beating Berdych in QF and Baghman in SF. One is 21, the other 22. It's their first meeting? Two of the uprising stars of our game.

Nishikori is the local favourite, Raonic with 3 titles and Nishikori with 1.

Who's your pick ?

Match starts at 11 pm, Pacific time.
Should be a great match between 2 up and coming stars of our game. Maybe the first of many final matches between them.

I am quite torn over this one. I'd love for Raonic to win because it would go a long way toward breaking into the top 10 by the end of the year. But Kei is in front of his home crowd with the chance of making history ... I guess I'll go with Nishikori. Here's to a great match either way.

I hope so too. Though I wouldn't mind if it's Raonic who wins.

?? You pick Kei but voted for Raonic. Why ?

I just picking who would most likely win. Raonic.

Though my heart wants Nishikori to take his home title. Raonic will have plenty of chances to win a 500.

I agree with you. I want Kei to win this because there's nothing like winning a big home tournament. I would be very glad for Raonic if he wins his first Canadian Open (unless of course if he is playing Rafa, then we have a different story :). ).

As a Canadian I'd like to see Raonic win - we need a revival in tennis in Canada, but for Japan, well, it's nice for every country to have their open won by their own.

I like both players & its going to be a good match.... as a Canadian I have to say Raonic ;-) I would be happy for Kei if he wins at home too, so either one is fine haha.

I saw Murray beat Nadal live at the Japan open last year, great match as well :)

I watched Milos just barely beat Tattoo Tipsy and then saw Kei twist Birdy into a Czech strudel loaf. At that point, it seemed like Kai was playing a level above Milos. As Murray also seemed, when he beat Stan. That was then. Now I'm voting for Milos.

Canadians aren't nice when it comes to Hockey, :).

Since none of us expect great things from Canadians in tennis. It expected that we be humble.

Just wait till Raonic wins a slam.....Canada start trolling about tennis.

I think Raonic is very hard to beat, damn I just watched some parts of the Tipsy match and his serve honestly scared me. I hope that I'm wrong and Nishikori surprises me.

A Tokyo would be career changing for Raonic. He woud jump to # 10 in the rankings and wouild have an outside chance of being in the Barclay Finals.

Sorry Kei...another time for you.

GO MILOS

Nadal out till next year Aussie.

Delpo wrist injury. Ferrer stomach virus.

Raonic has a nice chance....hopefully can skin some heads in Shanghai.

I saw him play Murray, and he's improved again.

I think Kei has an extra incentive in that this is his home tournament, though.
I saw an interview with him before the swing started and he talked at length about how much it meant to him to do well here.

I am showing 1 a.m. for U.S. Eastern time for the match start. My source (LSH) is very dependable. I maybe can stay up for the start.

I voted for Milos but Kei has an excellent chance.

Both of these guys will probably be vying for slams in the not-too-distant future.

Man, Nishikori is just playing out of his mind and coming up with some spectacular shots. Raonic looks a bit flat - maybe some fatigue from his long match with Murray?

Nishikori's correspondence with the trainer worries me. I hope it doesn't get in the way of the match. Would be a shame.
