* UPDATE! New Tour series will be released this May (2022). See newest posts for specs, photos and videos.

There have been other posts in the Racquets forum implying that there will be an eventual North American launch of the new Prince Textreme Tour series that was recently released in Japan.
In those posts there is reference to "Hang tight with the Tours as there is no immediate launch date".

My go to racquet in my bag is the 2015 Prince Textreme Tour 95. If you currently play with the 2015 or 2019 versions of the TT95, please participate in the poll to show your interest for the new release!

I wouldn't get your hopes up. The Japan frames generally don't make it to the US. I sell Prince in my shop and I have not heard anything. Personally I hate white rackets. Black and green is keen!
:)

Thanks for your feedback lefty. I agree that some of the Japan specific releases that usually end in "-J" like the Tour 98XR-J don't make it to the US. Hoping that TW will bring them over as the Tour 95 fills a void in Prince's lineup as the only 95", 16x19 advanced players frame and would likely be a best seller. Also agree that black and green is keen as I have Hyper-G Soft strings in my TT95's :D. Just hoping to add the new model to my tennis bag.

I have a Prince Phantom 100 XR that never made it to the US. In Japan its called the XR-J. Would be nice to see the Tour 100 310G make it to the US though.

(my other racquets in case you're interested: Yonex Vcore Pro 97 HD, Babolat Pure Control 95)

Thanks!

10S,

You can just buy them now from Japan, if you like. One easy way is to just use Rakuten’s Global Express and buy them from Japan tennis shops directly.

Thanks!
Nice racket collection- I recently added the Vcore Pro HD myself- that thing is a beauty!

Yes. All 3 in the collection are special in their own way but have a lot in common which are a necessity for my sensitive elbow and full, fast swings (especially 1HBH): Heavy static weight, low RA, low vibration and great control in a 7+ points HL player's frame.
:giggle:

To be honest, I love the way the TT95 swings and the feedback from the frame. But the swingweight is a little low for big hitting, even just at 4.0. And the string spacing is too open to give consistency. I get why it might be discontinued.

The vcore 97HD and Head GTprestige Mid are just more solid sticks in my bag right now. The TT95 is my favorite, but it's definitely third in line.

Sorry, didn’t mean to imply it was gone for good/reports of the death of the TT95 are greatly exaggerated; just commenting on the ongoing unavailability of the white TT95 ATS outside of Japan. Having said that, the previous version has been on discount in Melbourne for many months, with no talk of a replacement coming.

After a very long wait, it looks like the much anticipated, newest generation of the Prince Tour series will be released this Spring. Below are some specs that I was able to get from my local dealer.

Swing weight: 325
Unstrung balance: 30.5cm/12.0" 12 pts HL

98":

Unstrung weight: 305g / 10.8oz
Swing weight: 325
Unstrung balance: 31.5cm/12.4" 10 pts HL
Frame: 23 - 23 - 22

100P:

(didn't get more specs than that)

Any chance they told you when they'd have them in stock? I saw the tour 95 on tennis warehouse go on sale so I'm wondering if it's some time soon. I've used tour 95 for so long and recently tried the Prostaff 97 v13 and it's too stiff for me. Wondering if it's worth switching to the phantom 97 or waiting for the new tour 95.

Not a prince 95 player, but am still kicking myself for not buying the 100P wimbledon special edition from some years ago
That thing was so classy, if I were smart enough to post pics I would

So I'd be a buyer of this

I'm surprised they have both 95 and 98.

My dealer was only told Spring 2022. So I would guess May? But who knows these days with all the supply chain and transport issues.

So I'd be a buyer of this

There's still a reputable company on a big auction site that has 100P White Wimbledon limited edition racquets available in almost every grip size - for a reasonable price of $170. The company has 57,000 transactions and a 99.2% positive feedback score so I trust they are legit.

I literally just bought one the other day and it's brand new in perfect wrapped condition. I also bought a set of the 2019 100P black grommets that also fit the 2015 special edition one for a really sharp White/Black cosmetic.

You just cost me some money.....thanks for that :-D:-D

I live in Canada so I can order direct from this company if I choose to do so instead of going thru the big auction site. Thanks!

I've also been playing with the original Tour 95's since the first came out. I bought the 2nd gen one and I'm not a huge fan as it felt noticeably stiffer with the same string set up but as I'm now down to my last original TT 95 I have bought and trialled both the phantom 97p and the 93p. To be honest neither really works for me, the balance and feel is as expected different and while in the right hands I'm sure they are great rackets i didn't enjoy playing with them much in comparison to the TT95.

Having tried in vain the main alternatives from other big brands I'm now hoping that the 3rd gen versions of the Tour's will be closer to the first gen ones then the second

Agreed. I still have two 2015 TT95's and like you, went on a quest. I've switched to the VCP 97D but will still demo the 3rd gen TT95 if the specs and reviews are good.

If you're interested, I can sell mine. It's a grip size 4 1/2, but recently I changed to 4 3/8. If it wasn't for that, I'd keep my racket forever.
I'm demoing a few Yonex, technifibre, and Phantom 97P hoping to find something close.

Can I ask how the VCP 97D is? Dying to find a new stick for myself. Thought it was the prostaff until my shoulder started killing me

It's been excellent for me. I tried various racquets (Yonex Vcore 95, Dunlop Srixon CX200 Tour, Phantom 100X 18x20, Yonex Vcore Pro 97HD, etc) but none of them had the combination of comfort, control, stability and plowthrough that I found with the 97D which is my main stick now.

Arm friendly comfort is very important to me as I suffered from TE a few years ago.
The 97D has a 61 RA flex and a very low 125Hz vibration spec. Arm and elbow have no pain at all after 2 hours of tennis.
Demo it if you can and make sure you hit some serves with it!

Interesting l'll give the Yonex VCP 97D another go, I just found the Yonex felt very hollow/tinny (not sure of the technical phrase) compared to the TT95 when I demoed it for a week so couldn't really bond with it. The closest I found was the Technifibre TF-40 which was good but caused me some elbow pain so I had to give up on it.

Many thanks but grip size apart, it would just delay the issue a bit. I ideally need to find a new replacement for the old TT 95's. I'm sure i read on another thread that the Japanese gen 3 versions played closer to the originals so I have hope, also the 98 version could be interesting.

The VCP 97D is more muted than the TT95 due to its vibration dampening tech. The "tinny" feel may be related to the strings in your demo. Do you know what strings it had?

Tinny and muted are not the same for me. I don't find the 97D "tinny". I have tried other frames that felt "tinny" with certain poly strings. To me tinny means a thin, metallic feel or sound. Will need aao to confirm/clarify.
It's your use of quotations that trigger me

I would say a thinner more metallic feel would describe the sensation I felt quite well. Specs wise the rackets are fairly similar, the feel was however significantly different and while I cant remember which poly strings they used on the demo i don't think it would account for the difference. I would guess it is more down to how the rackets are constructed and the general layup of the composites they use (something that is quite normal and noticeable in pretty much any sport that uses composite based equipment)

I may however be wrong as the reviews of the racket are very good so I will demo another one. That said, I am still looking forward to trialling the 3rd gen Tours
