Poly differences between 17 gauge and 17L in terms of control and power

Just wondering what the major differences are between a 1.25 gauge vs 1.20 gauge poly string when strung at lower tensions like 38 pounds. I am currently using Solinco Revolution 1.20 strung at 38 pounds on a Yonex V-Core 95D and I am looking for slightly more control, slightly less power, and better tension maintenance.

Will changing from 1.20 to 1.25 give me what I am looking for?

It should but the changes will be miniscule

Differences will be greater in regards to tension maintenance and reduction in power. You might discover a tad less bite, but how it feels control-wise is going to be very subjective and influenced by how you personally feel.

All other parameters are arguably more objective IMO.

I have done the same experiment with Tour Bite, moving from 1.20 to 1.25 on some of my 18x20 sticks; the thicker gauge felt more solid and tension loss was more "linear" before the strings locked - settled, and finally went dead.

I would use 1.30 on my PB 10 and Vcore 89 mids though.
