Curious of DR98 users that have tried this combo of strings:

What did you use as main/cross
What brand of string
Gauge?
Tension?

Thanks!

I'm currently using the Babolat prepacked vs gut/rpm blast hybrid. Went gut mains poly crosses. I forget what tensions I asked for...I think 54/50 or something like that, but my little sticker on the throat just says 52 so I dunno what the stringer did. Wasn't a big deal.

One of the things I like with multis/gut is the power on serve. Really feel like I can just blast the first serve at times. But I have had trouble getting as much topspin in particular for 2nd serves. In terms of groundstrokes...even at 52lbs there's enough control I think. Not usually sending balls long or anything. Can still get decent topspin, but I don't think I'm getting as much as I did with poly tour pro or solinco revolution. Just guessing there though... I do need to play some more singles with the setup though. I've had maybe 2-3 opportunities, the rest has been casual doubles.

My latest setup that I'm loving is:

Babolat VS Team (mains) @ 48 lbs, 1.25
Weiss Cannon Mosquito Bite (crosses) @ 44 lbs 1.16

This plus a Wilson Shock Shield grip (which added around 14g to the handle) and 4g of lead at 3 and 9
Total specs 346g, 325sw, 9pts HL

Great power and spin. Obviously slightly less control due to the low tension totally worth it for a bit more pop. And super comfortable of course.

I like the string choices but the tensions make me think that it would turn that racquet into a rocket launcher. The VS Touch at 54lbs seems too low to me but if it works for you then great.

Klip Legend 16 mains @ 52
Wilson Revolve 16 cross @ 50
10 String savers (1 per main) added at about 5 hours of play.
Rubbed with silicone lube every few hours of play.

Very stable, long lasting stringbed, I have like 20 hours on it now and still no sign of any serious wear. It's a nice comfortable setup, but spin and control could be better I think, will be going for 16L cross and a few lbs higher tension on next one.

Disclaimer though, I have some lead on the V throat and loop, play it just slightly bellow 12oz 8hl

Know of one the womens collegiate players at UNC that uses Tonic 1.30/Hyper G 1.25 at 45/43. Ranked #4, they are currently 25-1 W/L. Do with this info what you will.
