Poly string is heavier?

I have a question whether there are weight difference between strings?
I got two Wilson ProStaff 95's. One is 16x18 PS strung with Wilson Spin Cycle 16L (poly string). The other one is 18x20 strung with Wilson NXT 17(multifilament).

But the 16x18 Prostaff is 10g(0.35oz) heavier than 18x20 prostaff, and the 16x18 is more heavy head too. I know there are variation of weight even in same racket. But my question is if poly strings are more heavier than multifilament strings?

Let me know if you know or experience. thanks.

in my experience, poly is definitely heavier. was using rip control for a while, but as i started to play more, the durability went down so i started trying out different polys in hybrids and full beds. racquets swung noticeably heavier with full poly. don't know what the difference in weight was though.

Can you really tell a difference when you hit with them? Weigh both the racquets without strings( exactly the same way, same grips/over grips etc) and then you'll have the racquet weight. Then weigh every set of strings every you start to string with. It would be interesting to find out with each set of strings. Interesting question.

you definitely can. Its not a super tough adjustment, but you will notice a difference if you go full poly from full syn gut.
