Poly tension loss

The pattern for tension loss when I get my rackets restrung normally goes as such...

1.5kg/3.3lbs loss from off the machine to before I play for first time.

1kg/2.2lbs additional loss when measured after first match

Loss thereafter depends on the durability of the string but is typically significantly slower.

I change again when it gets down to 20kg/44lbs. The process normally takes less than two weeks, even if I start as high as 25kg/55lbs

I track the tension using 'TennisTension', the highest rated of such apps (4.8stars) on android. It seems legit and has a bunch of testimonials by stringers in the reviews.

String brands are most often different, I like trying them all.

I suppose I could be described as a big hitter. Sure as hell not a Delpo though.

What are YOUR experiences? Do you think this a normal rate?

(note: strings are not pre-stretched, I don't like pre-stretched strings)

If you're playing more than 5 hours per week that seems normal. But if your strings feel either dead, like a trampoline, or locked up and boardy, it's time to restring regardless of the timeline. There are a number of factors that can kill your strings.

I was more interested in the first days loss.

Edit: The strings aren't normally dead at two weeks, there is just too little control me at sub 20kg tensions.

Have a nightmare story from my high school tennis, I used a full bed of poly but I’d never thought of re-stringing or learning how to string. My tension was 55, and I used the same setup for week, after week, after week. By about the second match we had, my racquet felt like it was too hard to control.

Lol! Have you tried talking to a therapist about your experience. It might help;)
