Popular recommendation for shoes for those with narrow feet

Thanks Andy, I am pretty sure the 11.5 size fits me better than the 12.

But I'm still just not sure the Adidas Barricade 2016 Boost are narrow enough for my feet...I still have a ton of extra material on the 11.5 size because my feet are so narrow...And I still have some slippage (more than I would like).

Are the Adidas Barricade 2016 Boost shoes overall more narrow than my previous shoes I've worn of the Nike Air Court Ballistic 3.3 and 4.3? Are the Adidas Barricade 2016 Boost one of the most narrow men shoes on the market? Where are they on the scale of narrowness compared to others?

Do you have another suggestion of a narrow shoe I should try?

I have suggested all of our most narrow options to you previously in this thread. The Barricade Boost is more narrow than your previous shoes and would probably be one of the most narrow premium shoes on the market.

On the Scale of Narrowness, they are pretty narrow.

Thanks Andy! So I now have a pair of both size 11 and size 11.5 of the Adidas Barricade Boost 2016 but can't decide which is the better fit. The size 11 that I just got in was very hard to put on and my toes were almost at the very end of the shoe. But oddly enough...I didn't feel jamming just moving around and they weren't super uncomfortable. There was less extra shoe material on the top of the shoe. But on the 11.5 it was a little easier to get into but a little more slipping. There was extra shoe material on the top of the shoe (like it's too wide) but I had a little more toe room. So which is the better fit in your recommendation? Is there a good measuring chart you recommend to be able to decide?

Or should I look at another shoe...The Lotto Raptor EVO? But I tried the Lotto Stratosphere and it didn't feel right because it slipped too much and kind of hurt my ankle because it felt extremely low to the ground...so in that case would the Raptor EVO not be any better of a fit? I have a medium-high arch.

Which size you want to go with is entirely up to you. Try them both on and just figure out which one feels best to you. That's all it's really going to come down to.

I don't think the Raptor Evo will change anything for you or fit you any better than the Barricade. It sounds like you've found a good fit for your foot in that shoe. Now, just a pick a size and hit the courts!

Thanks Andy but I meant in terms of how the Raptor EVO would fit if I tried the Stratosphere and they didn't work? Should I just assume the Raptor EVO wouldn't either?

Between the size 11 and 11.5 of the Adidas Barricade Boost 2016...is there a good judgment call though? Like with foot swelling etc. on what I should lean towards? Like if there is more extra material on the top of the shoe with the 11.5 does that mean I should lean towards the 11? Just need general guidelines that are good to stick with to make the decision easier. I have to tie the size 11.5 really tight like I did my Nike Air Court Ballistic 4.3 because of my narrow foot...not so much on the size 11 but I notice just wearing them around the house that the size 11 cuts into the ankle a little bit. But other than that not a super ton of pain?

I'm not sure it is the right shoe for sure because it still slips and the issue with having to tie it real tight just on the 11.5. Should I keep looking? Any other suggestions? Maybe need to keep trying.

The best judgement call on sizing is your own. Honestly, no one can tell you what size fits you best except for yourself. If you want a more snug fit, go with the smaller size. If you want a roomier fit, go with the larger one. This is entirely up to you.

The Raptor EVO does have a narrow fit that's similar to the Stratosphere. It's a little stiffer in the upper than the Stratosphere though, but the fit through the foot will be similar. It sounds like we've found something that works for you in the Barricade though, so I think we should stick with that and determine the right size. If you don't think it's the right fit for you though and want to try something else, then by all means go for it!

Happy hitting and Happy 4th of July!

Thanks, but on sizing it just isn't that simple. Yes the 11 is a more snug fit but I don't want to develop blisters or if feet swelling during match play? That's why I was just wanting advice on that regard and if you personally would lean towards the 11 or 11.5? Like on the 11.5 when I scoot my foot all the way to the front, I can stick my index finger in the back of the shoe behind the heel pretty easy. Is that not a good thing? That's the kind of thing I am asking and what you would lean me towards on stuff like that.

Yeah maybe thinking I should try something else but need your advice. What about the Nike Zoom Vapor 9.5. How is it in terms of being narrow and good for someone with a narrow heel?

If it's a snug fit and it feels comfortable, the gap that fits your index finger is irrelevant.

If you're getting the Zoom Vapors go for the 11.
If you're planning on the Asics Speeds 2 or 3, you may want to get the 11.5.

I'm a size 10 for the Vapors, but I'm also a size 10 for the Asics Speeds for both models.

However I have a friend who's an 11 in the Vapors, but he prefers the 11.5 in the Asics Speeds 2. Presumably the Speed 3's as well, but he hasn't tried them on.

Previously owned 2 pairs of Nike Zoom Vapors 9.5, Great comfort and fit. Not as narrow nor as snug the Asics Speeds.
Asics Speed Solutions 2 & 3 are also great. Owned 3 pairs of the Solution 2, and currently using my 3rd pair atm.

Both of these models from asics are generally only for people with narrow feet.

Difference between the Speed Solutions 2 & 3 is that the the 3 is slightly more narrow, despite the Solution 2 already being a narrow shoe.

If you like more of a snug fit, go for the Asics.

You won't get blisters or have your feet swelling from the snug fit.

Go with the 11 in the Barricades. I agree with the above poster completely in regards to the comparison between the Vapor and Solution Speed.

But Andy, I was never a size 11 in a Nike before. The smallest I have worn on a Nike shoe is an 11.5. That's what makes this difficult...I measured my feet by tracing around it and it is 11 and 1/8 inch.

Then go with a size 11.5! This is what I mean...only you can determine the sizing for yourself. There's no way for me to know exactly how a shoe feels on your foot. Try them both on and go with whichever one feels best to you.

Thanks,

I know...that's why I just can't decide so I was hoping there would be some type of tiebreaking system I can use. They both have pros and cons and I don't want to choose the wrong one for the price.

You said if most people have worn say an 11.5 in Nikes, Asics, etc. they would wear a size 11.5 on the Adidas Barricade 2016 Boost? The 11.5 seemed good on the Adidas Ubersonic and Yonex Eclipsion. The size 12 seemed good on the Lotto Stratosphere.

But the size 11 did feel tighter and better overall on the Adidas Barricade 2016...just not sure if I would have toe jamming!

Andy, should I try the Nike Air Zoom Vapor 9.5?

Brett,

I think at this point you will just have to make a gut decision on the size as there is no right or wrong answer. We have offered the best advice we can give. Good luck and happy hiting!
