Ok, I picked Justine, but I'm not at all confident in this decision...this will be an interesting tournament, to say the least. How far do you think Serena will actually go? She will definitely NOT be a favorite with the fans, after her lack of class in the Open. I think she could go far, but I think she will go down to someone with more match play and fitness. Same story, different tournament.

I also picked Justine, but I think she can pull it off. Although, I don't care for her that much, but I respect her game and what she always brings to the table. Justine has a very nice draw with Hantuchova in the quarters, Jankovic/Petrova could be a test but I think she will come through.

Serena on the other hand, I prefer Venus any day and I think she has a decent shot of getting to the final, she has Kuznetsova in the quarters, Ivanovic/Chakvetadze semifinals, and Justine in the final. She is slated to play in 3 consecutive tournaments , and it will be interesting how she holds up physically.

I'm going to go with JH. But the field looks like it has some good players in it, though. Serena would have been my 2 pick. She has a very tough field to the final, while on the other hand JH has a more comfortable draw.

If Justine is playing, i will pick on her. She's too strong and consistent. Very hard from the rest to beat her.

Wouldn't it be great to see Serena & Justine in the finals? The Tennis Channel is scheduled to broadcast these matches live starting this weekend.

Phoony, as an avid Sharapova fan, you should know who Radwanska is...she is the one who defeated Maria at the Open. A very strong up and coming player.
Good win for Bartoli. She suprises me with some of her win and doesn't with her losses.

The score was even more surprising...Bartoli won the first set 6-0!!! Then lost the next two 1 and 2 I believe. Either a huge letdown, or ARad woke up.

Mauresmo has seemed to have lost her motivation to win...I think reality has set in that she wont go to the championships this year.

I think they used this other procedure where to enter through the belly button, but I think her main goal should be is to at least try to win some matches to gain some confidence heading into Australia 2008.

I never really had a problem with her, love to watch her game but she annoys me when she goes for those flashy low percentage shots on the big points

In her 1st set that Radwanska totally nervous and panic. Couldn't believe that she can do it again.

Don't worry about Aggy, she pulled off the best win of the year last month in New York ;)

Also, if you read her comments after the match she noted that she had to change her tactics after the 1st set, that's where variety comes into play.

Hint, hint....

Laproscopy? I've had laproscopic abdomen surgery, and it still hurts for quite a while afterward. I had assumed, since hers was an emergency, that she might have had the actual incision.

But still...she was out for so long, and the core is so important in tennis, and with her nerves what they are...just a recipe for a bad season IMO. Plus, as much as I love her, I don't think she will ever have another season like last year.

OK Japan open will be on Tennis channell, but what about Porsche open ? Is it going to be on TV or webchannell somewhere ?

Pick 'em Kiss of Death

This is probably the kiss of death, but I picked Justine to win. I also picked the two cover girls (Ivanovic and Chakvetadze) to face each other in the quarters, so that's how much I know.

Radwanska is showing that she means business. Sharapova is lying low and preparing to do some damage at the Championships it seems. Whatever the case, it's shaping up like a fun event.

Lucky Jankovic made it to semi. Another setup with Justine. Would it be another lose or her 1st win over Justine. She never beat Justine b4 in all their meeting.
