Possible Blade v7 Pro Stock

Hi Guys! Found a listing on the big auction site for a Wilson Blade 98 V7 racquet. It's a 16x19 version. I'm just wondering if it might be a pro stock because the finish is completely glossy. But it doesn't say pro on the side, so I know it's not a blade pro. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Watch out for ”fake” pro stocks, there has been many made in China that has just painted over with ”hair spray” kind of paint to have that glossy looking paint, but has nothing to do with pro stocks and are just retails or might be even worse… usually very cheap and new with packages…

People who sell pro stocks know what they are selling. They list the specs, because without them they are kind of useless. And they usually sell several. Those are safe to buy.

Pro stock Blade will have "Wilson" molded into the headguard. Retail V7 Blade does not have this and it would be hard to fake considering replacement grommets/headguards are nearly impossible to get. Retail V7 prints the racquet specs inside the throat and has a hologram sticker on the other side. Pro stock has neither. You should be able to tell if this is legit or not. I wouldn't be in too much fear of a fake. Pro stock Blade is a super sweet stick and what I keep going back to.

I have the same issue, just picked up a glossy blade 7, but doesn’t say pro. Pictures look identical to ones posted above.

If it does not say "Pro" from Pro Labs, then it is either (if all glossy):
- the pro stock version of something (Blade, H22...check the mold), or
- repainted retail (I have seen these and they look identical to the pro stocks), or
- a knock off -- I have also seen some in the past

Appreciate it, I’ve been looking for signs of blade vs h22 mold on this forum but can’t find any. Any obvious signs I can look for? Don’t have much experience with Wilson molds

The H22 is box-beam like mold, the blade mold has the “D” like beam

Don't need more pics. You have a regular pro stock Blade 98 (typically K-Blade mold), it's not an H22. Good luck finding grommets that fit!

Don’t forget ordered via wilson custom. I hit with a guy who ordered 5 v7 in the stock PJ but shiny paint. He hated the rubbery retail paint but liked the PJ overall. I would imagine someone could try to pass that as a pro stock

I guess next step will be measuring specs. Thanks for all the help, paid 100 CAN. Used V7 not great deal, pro stock blade decent deal.

No way this is a custom-painted retail V7. It has the pro stock grommets and headguard which Wilson would for sure not use on any retail V7. V7 retail grommets are not interchangeable with these pro stock grommets. You have a pro stock Blade plain and simple. Lots of them out there. They are sweet sticks, but expect great difficulty finding a grommet replacement solution.

The part that threw me off was the specs listed on throat, I was under the impression pro stocks are blank

Some are, some aren't. Literally just depends if the factory put them on or not. I'm seeing them much more frequently in more recent paintjobs while v6 and prior was hit or miss. The grommets are the tell, typically. Not the parallel-drilled/all oversized ones, so it's a v1-v4 mold. Same flat black "Wilson" script grommets from the BLX era fit them all, and that's what goes on them.
