Possible crack?

I've posted this before but the pictures werent too good. I finally learned how to focus my camera and I think I got some better pics.

Note: All photos except two are taken using flash so the crack looks white although in real life its black.

Note2: Hitting the stringbed with my palm produces a strange tinny sound where metal seems to be vibrating against something. Its an abnormal noise, not the normal "ping" sound of the strings.

In addition, I'm suspecting this is a factory flaw from head. I've measured the swingweight using TWU's do-it-urself- method and repeatedly got around the 270s. A youtek prestige mid is listed as 328. Its also noticeably lighter than my microgel prestige mid.

Anyways please tell me if you think its a crack or not. The previous thread got mixed opinions. Thx

uhmm i have that same sort of crack but it is at the top of the throat, near the racket head. Racket plays the same and have not noticed anything different.

I doubt the crack (and it is a crack) will make your racket play different or make the sound you described. If your racket is still under warranty contact the place where you got it to see about sending it back for replacement assuming there are no apparant abuse indications on your racket.

k thanks for the confirmation

anyone else??? I'm still puzzled...I have to make sure cuz I wouldnt want to end up wasting money on shipping and find out nothing was wrong with it.

Honestly, I've seen quite a few different cracks and paint chips and this does not really look that threatening. I wouldn't worry about it personally; if it doesn't affect play or feel flexible you should be okay. Also have you strung it since you noticed the chip? Because usually that will crack it all the way. If you still feel unsure and worried, you might as well send it back Head is really efficient in getting you a racquet back in a timely manner. Also, its a fairly new racquet's considering the model so unless you abuse it I would really doubt its cracked.

Thanks. But I'm also worried about its specs cuz it weighs and balances so much different than my MG Prestige mid. In theory they should be exactly the same but they arent. They're noticeably different. So I'm suspecting its some factory fluke.

Honestly it still doesn't look to threatening; but you sound worried so go ahead and send it back to HEAD. They always do a good job of getting your racquet back fast and if they do not deem it defective or cracked you will just get your old on back. So either way its no loss; and besides shipping isn't to expensive.
