Don't think I got myself anything for the birthday (was about month and a half ago), but I decided to snag one of these polos while they were still on sale. Also ordered some shorts in the matching blue color. I've kinda turned around in regards to Lacoste stuff. I've always liked their designs (for the most part), but the prices were always too high. Now everybody's prices are too high... Well, I just remembered that I bought that Nike Henley. But I'm not breaking the bank so all is good for now. Curious if they have a hat in this shade of blue though.

Good purchase, man. I always like their classic style and the quality is one of the best in business. You really know what you are paying for.

Good stuff, I always was looking for a zipper Lacoste shorts but never found it.
Hmm. Come to think of it i dunno if I've seen any either. These are drawstring. The polo kinda covers them up (sorry about that).

I found another excellent deal on a Lacoste polo so I'll post that one too at some point.

This one I found for over 50% off. Crazy deal and I'm pretty happy to find such a deal on it. It was originally my favorite for Lacoste's Fall line, but I kinda like the black/blue/white one better. Although something I've noticed, a lot of ships are getting the colors mixed up. The pictures showed white/red, but on the order form it said ink/white. Ink is the same blue from the other polo I just got. Even TW has the white/navy one listed as white/corrida (red). This other shop didn't even have any pictures for the blue one... Hopefully it is in fact the white/red one.

How would you rate the iridescent RF hats compared to the normal stitched ones? They look like they use the same hat except they used a heat-transferred RF monogram instead of the stitched RF monogram.

I personally don't like them and will probably not bother collecting them. I actually made a thread on this subject a few months back called RF Iridescent Hats. You are right in your assumptions though.

Chapeau!

Very cool and classy kit! Maybe the shorts in black, or even orange would have been great too ;-) but unless Vollaix make their stuff based on the Vapors you have in stock, I guess it would be a bit too much to ask.
On another note, I visited Uniqlo yesterday and checked out Novak's kit for the AO... While, when Uniqlo started fitting him I liked their simple designs and clear color schemes, I now start to think it gets a bit old and boring. Not sure how Nike got away with staying simple and "boring" with Feds out-fit for such a long time, but somehow it worked (and I am not a fan of Feds AO kit...maybe it has to grow on me, who knows). Anyway, I think Uniqlo need to up their game a bit.

I love the shade of blue of this new nikecourt outfit:

I ordered the shirt in XL ( even though I usually buy nike shirts in size L) as all the nike henleys tend to be a little smaller ( at least from my experience) and somehow, all new nike henleys ( also the Federer AO henley ) have a "slim fit" tag added:

theres also a difference concerning the material used for the henley. the lilac and orange ones from fall/winter 2016 almost feel like silk- but the new henley is different

Which is better?
Hi,
Sorry for my late reply.

I can't say which one is " better"- they are just different.
I really like how soft and light the fall'16 polos feel.
The new ones do not feel as soft & light - but could be more breathable because of the texture of the material ( but that's just my personal impression after buying the blue shirt)

That looks brilliant. I really like the thinner profile contrasting dark collar while keeping the button line white. It looks great. How hard is it making sure your designs stay exactly to your specification through the manufacturing process?

Details and samples. This one is a minimalistic design representing my fav tennis state, California. The thin orange bar is the sunset of the Golden state over the Pacific. The black bar is the night above. In this case I submit detailed sketches and measurements of the design. I look at the Pantone color selection of oranges to choose the right one. I make a sample. I make corrections. Repeat until perfect and then production. Best job in the world bc you get to see everything come together.

How many times do you go to the sample stage normally? Is it costly each time? You can really notice the attention to detail you go to.

I tried sending you a PM to avoid hijacking this thread, so here's my answer:

Depends on the item. Socks? I can scout suppliers and notice who does a good job. I send out my measurements, design, and desired materials. They make one sock and send me a picture. Once I have an approved item via the picture, they send it to me. Always have them send the sample. No exceptions. All I usually need is one sample and because the design is simple there isn't anything to correct. Same with wristbands.

Polo shorts, shorts, vests and jackets are different. Different suppliers do a better job than others. You have them send samples of your design and alternative fabrics you might use. Some suppliers communicate well at first and then leave you hanging. Some promise you the world, and you spend time and money explaining your project. Then you discover they can't do it right or they never call you back. It took many suppliers before I found the right person who could make a simple pair of shorts. I had a similar experience with polo shirts. I get the sample made and sent to me. You can see the missteps in your hands. You notice you neglected to tell the factory something important. You may want to change something you thought you liked on paper. Maybe they messed up on something. You get a second sample set sent with corrections. I went through 3 sweater vest samples before they were perfect.

Costs? Samples are not cheap mostly because you are asking someone to make a customized product and delivery. I have no plans to quit my day job, bc I need it to continue to fund the company/hobby.

Modeled after my favorite Becker classic.

Very cool stuff... great sweater vest. Question, though: Why must there be the "bunched" part at the bottom of almost all sweater vests (sorry, I don't know the terminology). If makes the part above it puff out (see Becker photo) when you're wearing it (unless you're really fat). Why can't the bottom of a sweater vest just be flat (a continuous part of the sweater), just like a shirt? It would look a lot better, in my view. But maybe I'm missing something...

To keep the garment in place?

There are different styles of jumpers and many have the smooth transitioning you talk about. They are of the finer/lighter variety, but it doesn't have to be that way:

I usually buy Nike shirts in size L + the henleys in XL and I was hoping the light blue Rome/RG 2008 shirt wouldn`t be that long and big in XXL as this design tends to be smaller (the dark blue is size XL but it fits like size L) but it is huge : )

Still working on my Djokovic uniqlo collection, but here's some new stuff (exl the ones I posted before):
From left to right

Top picture:
RG15 black sweatpants (got two pairs of those, they have some weird stiching but are very comfy and light), AO17 grey jacket, RG16 red jacket and RG16 white polo

Bottom picture:
AO17 white and navy henleys, AO15 white polo (the navy one is currently in the washing machine, alongside white shorts) and WTF13 black polo (waiting for nishikori RG16 shorts to match it, since wtf shorts were never for sale)

Funny thing is uniqlo henleys seem to be looser than their regular polos (total opposite of what nike is doing). I'm 178cm tall and weight 61.5 kg and their EU medium henley is suprisingly loose on me compared to jp large polos.

Where did you score these? It's painful how beautiful Lopez's Ellesse gear is. The only company making A+++ tennis kits today and yet they're impossible to attain.

Hi, I would like to share a small part of my outfits of recent years and hope the pics works.

And some of the pieces that I don't use or still can find the matching shirt or shorts or maybe I think I might sell later
Have you made up your mind about selling?
Incredible collection, btw. Very, VERY nice.
