Post pictures of your favorite racquets

Semi-Pro

My current stick. I got bashed on the other day by a girl from SJSU college team. I just met her and and I was playing with the Elite Pro and she told me "Is that seriously your main racket?" I was shocked at first because I forgot my racket was an older model, but then I realized that some people are not educated about classic rackets and I just let it go.

That's awesome!! Only the coolest of the cool use that racquet. :) Here's my Elite Pros:

(although I am embarrassed to report that I broke one of them a couple nights ago; bad night after a bad week in a bad month in a bad year...)

Sorry to hear about your racket. Times are getting tough and these babies are getting hard to find. I'm recovering from a car accident injury and my game is not as it use to be so I know how that feels. How broke is it? Pics???

Sorry, no... out of respect for the Dead.

I can salvage the pallet and the butt cap. I'll keep the corpse to remind me to take it easy out there. I had intended to play some sets to blow off some steam (the weather's been pretty inconsistent here in my part of northern California; I had to take two weeks off from hitting, and I still have a head cold that won't go away after five long months), but I didn't intend to blow off steam in that fashion. Idiot. And I have USTA league starting up in a few weeks...

Awesome TXP Pros khw72004.

I put these pics in a thread about the CTS Precision 90, but since they're one of my favorites, I guess they can be put here too.... :)

Wait, are you telling us that you have 12 TXPs. Wow, that's alike a nuclear arsenal. :)
...Or a his very own, well-stocked, 1980's vintage pro shop! :)

KHW, when your injuries heal up, and my injuries heal up, perhaps we can meet up and hit. I live not altogether too far away from you! (I promise not to slam you on your taste in racquets like that female from SJSU...)

Nice .... Rare breed indeed

What are the weight range on those 12 frames strung? I have one at 365 gram strung.

There was time I was the only bidder on eb@y for Txp, got many of those for $30 and never more than $100.

Here's my own favourite 'arsenal' the Prestige Pro 600's..:-D

I've sold a few as well.. took a couple years to find all of them in excellent shape yet fair prices, average out to about 100 each IIRC. Every model in the original Prestige line are wonderful frames IMO, whether it's the TXP, or Prestige Pro, Prestige Pro 600, Elite Pro, or Elektra..

Good job in collecting.

Thanks vsb and tandayu.:) I'll try to take a picture of the buttcaps as soon as I can. Is there anything specific about them?

I will take pics this weekend

The buttcap comes in all black with Head logo, or big red logo, or small red logo.
All of mine come with a big round silver sticker, red Head written across the middle and brown logo above it to the left.

Thanks for sharing blackace.

Great display of the direct descendants of the Wilson Pro Staff Midsize.

Plus your St. Vincent Pro Staff Midsize collection looks like they are in terrific condition.

I just love the PS85 and frames with the PS85 mold.

Glad to see the short-lived "Pete Sampras Signature" 6.0 paintjobbed one again. I'd like to find one of those but I'd say those might be the rarest version.

IIRC, that was the one he tried out at Queen's Club in 1991 but quickly went back to his SVs (is that right?).

Whats the racket 4th from the left? Looks like a regular china ps85 but with hyper era wilson logos? Must be very rare :)
That's the 2000 limited edition Pro Staff Midsize with HyperCarbon (you can see the side view on the bottom pic).

He played with it at the 1991 French Open. As far as I know they only sold those in Japan. The U.S. got the horrible Pro Staff 6.0 95 widebody with the dual taper beam.

vsbabolat - I'm not sure if he used it at the French, but apparently he did at least use it at the then Stella Artois at Queen's club (losing to Mark Keil) and at Wimbledon (losing to Derrick Rostagno in the second round).

Check out some pics from Getty Images (black and whites at Queen's Club):

Since his loss to Keil is one of his worst losses (check out 'The Journeymen' if you haven't already) and an early loss at Wimbledon, it makes total sense psychologically why he never went on to do the paintjob thing......

He did also use it at the 1991 French Open. Beat Muster in 5 then lost to Thierry Champion in straight sets. That was only only period that he had other cosmetics on his Pro Staff Midsize.
