Is the braided graphite at 3 and 9 painted on, or is it legit?
Great looking frame! I'm getting the feeling more of my $$ may be going your way sometime soon
It looks awfully glossy doesn't it? I don't remember graphite being that reflective.
its legit but i think what you see is painted on. it is pretty glossy. that being said my cell phone camera is not the best
the solinco frames are very nice but this one is not for me. It is pretty smooth swinging, but I like the 10 a lot more for my game. I don't know how long I'll hold onto this one
this is based on Head mold right?
All of my Donnays:
Almost all of my Yonexes:
could be. nearly identical mold to the pro one 16x19 here
what are the thin grey donnays in the middle? look like the newer model ones almost but cool old school paint scheme
The one there are four of? In that case it's the Pro Ceramic.
Whats that green and blue donnay?
It's the WST Kevlar Pro.
Pro stocks are always for sale on the string forum
I used to have one. Lost it a while back...
I always wanted the Donnay Academy Pro MP. Never tried one and the stiffness would probably wreak havoc on my wrist but they were awfully purdy.
Nice! is this the Mp or the Os version?
Thanks! It doesn't say, but compared to other racquets it looks 97-ish.
so this is the mp, i remember that the Os version was a 110 sq. inc. This one appears to be the same mold of the Donnay Formula Pro 97 sq.in.
Yeah, could very well be. But they don't play in the same league as the thin beamed ones...
My POGs. From the left are two one-stripes, two Tour Graphite OS, one Graphite 90 (four stripes), and finally six Graphite Midplus (four stripes).
man these sticks are awesome i wonder if nadal has used any of them
Not sure, but he's welcome to try mine out.
I swear my eye spots a playboy bunny stencil in that group of frames
Nice! Especially the Dunlops
Nice! Especially the Yonex.
Dino, How many sticks do you have? I have 14 and thought I was a racquet junkie lol. You clearly have me beat!
I love testing frames and different strings and tinkering. It's fun.
You can totally trust your eyes. I used to stencil my racquets like that for a little while many years ago...
I have like 330 racquets. I realize that's quite a few, but my aim has never been to get as many as possible, but to enjoy trying different racquets out. Especially graphites from the 80s and 90s. Also, I've got these frames over a period of 15 years, so that's only about two per month on the average.
There are people on here who've got thousands, so they've clearly got me beat...
The Biomimetic 300 Tour is one of the best looking frames I've seen in a while.
330? thats it? from your pics i would guess 500
i see. because the pro 10 i have matches the radical exactly. string pattern and everything
one of my new best friends... taking it out for a little hit this evening
pro one 18x20 - with a few subtle differences
Here are my Fischers:
That's it, but I'm working on it.
On the 2 yellow ones, I see CAP inspired grommets.
Have you hit with all of them? If you had to chose your favorite which one would it be?
pro stock pro one 18x20 next to a retail pro one 18x20
hahahha! tres bien
is it just paint or something else too?
My new setup: blade 98s (18x20)
The paint is probably the closest thing to the retail pro one
James Blake's and Donald Young's racquets.
Blake's racquet has dual core construction and is very stiff (68-69RA). Stock weight is 310g, but it doesn't play well until leading up to 350g. The retail Pro One 18x20 plays much easier at lower weight.
Young's racquet has a softer feel compared to Babolat Pure Drive 2012, but not as comfortable as Donnay Formula 100.
Is it just me or does the Y in the blade look huge?
hahahhah shows how much i know
No, not all of them. There are a few woods and metals that I haven't played with. Also I have some unstrung NOS, that I obviously haven't played either. Apart from that there may have been a few others that have gone under the radar. A guesstimate would be that I have hit with at least 250 of my racquets.
My favorite? That's a very hard question, and I don't think I could pick just one. So here's my top-12, in no particular order:
Puma Davis Cup (From the Super mold)
Fischer Vacuum Elliptic Pro
Head Radical Tour 630 ( 1998 )
Yonex Super-RD Tour 90
Donnay Pro Ceramic
Donnay Pro International
Völkl C10 Comp Mid
Dino, what's your regular racquet? The one you play with the most nowadays.
I played some 30 matches in 2012. In about half of those, I guess, I played with the Head Radical Tour 630 ( 1998 ).
That is great looking bag. 6-pack or 9-pack?
Haven't seen them around yet.
tw europe has them !
Top to bottom: APDGT (1 FO), YTPP, FXP Prestige mid, KB98, KBT, K95, BLX90, K90, N90 Asian spec, PS85 TW reissue, KTour 95, NTour 95. Looking to get rid of a few
I don't think it's any larger than the previous versions' throats. I think it's also normal of the blade to have a bit of a longer throat, but it causes the handle to be shorter which is annoying at first for a 2HBackhand.
Wilson claims it's their 15 pack, but it's probably mopre comparable to a 9 pack or a 12 pack. I really like this bag, it's a great size- not too big but no too small. Like the previous version of this bag, it is more narrow on the top and then widens at the bottom, which looks sharp. It has moisture and temp guard, and also 4 accessory pockets. On top of it all, the color scheme is really classy. Overall really happy with it.
