Yesterday I got around to regripping my remaining TFight 315 Xtc Ltd 18x20 that didn't have leather yet on it. Used the standard HEAD Tour leather¹ not stretched too firmly. (It's a size 2 so in any case I'll have two OGs on it when I'm done.)

String job is Multifeel black in 17g crossed with Dunlop S-Gut 17g in white ... yet to be hit with <thank you pandemic>.

[And the red paint isn't faded; we all see how often red trim is "wrong" in other pics, so I didn't try too hard to solve that issue.]

¹– I'm not committed to any particular leather yet; I typically pick up a few of any brand I've used before whenever I see them on sale.
Been wanting to find one of these.

Here is My Precious — a cherry HEAD MIA i.Prestige Mid Plus purchased new for myself when this was the current issue.

While I was out of the game I still always kept one good frame strung up and one good pair of shoes at the ready if something came up. I just so happened to pull the trigger at a good time in the historical arc of the Prestige line when I replaced the racquet that came before it.

/* click for fullsize */

And yeap, it's strung with Ashaway Kevlar (Crossfire ZX 17) at 45/50 lbs (the throat sticker tells all). I would probably drop it a couple of kilos next time, but it still plays hits plenty good.

Since joining TT and finding out this frame is "a classic" I didn't want to be restringing it too much so I figured Kevlar would help with that. Now I'm a pretty big fan of Kevlar, but that's a whole 'nutha discussion.

Love this racquet!

It is beyond me how some people keep all sort of racquets in their collection. Different headsizes, different lengths, different string patterns, different weights.

It just makes no sense to me. When I moved from 27 inch to 28 inch everything was completely different and it took me a while to make the change, though I kept all the other specs perfectly identical.

Maybe it is a big house, large family and everyone is playing. So there are about 3 elderly players (60+ years old), 4 adults, around 40 years old (30-50) and 3 adults between 20-30 years old.
Otherwise it is completely bonkers to me. It is banana.

Here's a racquet I just received for my son to play around with. It's the Taolson Sweet Area 280. It's a 60" head racquet that weighs in around 297 grams strung and +5 points HL. I've seen these types of training aids around so I decided to see if they do anything. My son did claim it helped him hit the sweet more often. Then again, he usually hits the sweet spot most of the time anyway. I have some videos of him playing with the racquet and then going back to his Babolat PA lite if any of you want to see if there is a difference.

What sort of drills are you doing with the orange drop handle road bike bars?
Those are mini hurdles. There are several drills you can use them for. Side stepping footwork. Jumping then swinging. I got a lot of ideas from former ATP pro Brian Dabul. His YouTube channel has a lot of good training videos, many that use these hurdles. I do use the bungee stuff the most.

Here are some of the same drills I use. Brian is using a stairstep but the mini hurdle does the same thing.

Just finished this one, its a mini @Shroud racket. Extremely powerful and stiff base frame. 14g on handle, 14g on head (static weight) and 7g on the side (fake PWS system wilson?? ).

58lb nano vendetta main, 60lb eagnas 15g perfect spin cross and a alpha serpant (16*15 are weird with vibrations if you hit hard, need a worm type or not stable).

Wilson Ultra xp100s. Stamped weight is 10.2 but that doesnt include butt cap, grip or grommets (1 pc racket). They weigh 10.8 stock (i have 9). This one is 12.8 with a hammer like balance but put the 7g's in middle for stability.

Been using since they came out, but a very sensitive frame to tension and other stuff.

Nice job man. Way neater than a shroud stick. Though using 1/2 inch is harder than the 1/4. I have the XP1 which I think is related to yours somehow. Its a good stick but I like the current 2.3 hyper hammer better and its like 1/3 the price.

Installed TK238 CAPs on them. For those curious, TK238 are 33 grams. Both of these racquets were 300g without grommets. Now both are 333g (still unstrung).

These will be at a beastly static weight for me once they are strung up. For reference, I have been playing with 330-335g strung sticks for a long time now. Last time I played with 350+ gram strung sticks was for a couple of semesters in college using the early 2000s Swirly Pure Controls (and even then my shoulder could feel them). Gotta remember to take it easy and relax it with the hustling and baseline grinding when I take them out for a spin. Anyway, I do think these CAPs look gorgeous.

Next up it will be my MG Radical MP that will be getting CAP treatment.

Lo and behold! All it took was a couple of hours, one disgruntled wife, and sacrificing of both thumbs and 4 fingers at the alter of HEAD Gods. No biggie.

Still feels just a bit bumpie at some places when I run my hand over and grommets aren't sticking out as much as I'd want (could just be this racquet as these same CAPs are smooth as a baby's bottom on my iPrestiges above). It isn't bad though and I think with stringing they should settle down well. I like how stick is swinging now too.

P.S:
My doggie clearly wondering what this idiot is doing at midnight fighting with what could easily be her next chew toy.

Just curious, what’s the reason for hopping over the step? Is it a momentum starter technique to get your weight going forward?

Nice work. How does it feel swinging it?

I’ve hit grommets w a heat gun or put it in boiling water to soften it up. Made the ordeal slightly less difficult ahahahah

Thanks! :)

Yeah, definitely not par with premium ones. Lighter and flimsier. I love Angell gear but their leather grips are pretty mediocre if I'm being honest.

Gave her the ol' Tourna treatment. Now contemplating on whether to go CAP or regular grommets.

Not sure how different that model is compared to the bumblebee...but FWIW, I felt the Bumblebee MP was plenty stable with standard. Swing Weight was also on the high end for me.

Love these Radical Tours!! Zebras are my fav.Safe to assume going by your older Prestiges & Radical pics that you're going heavy static weight now?Last time I saw you,you were whooping that scrawny college team kid's behind using those fancy featherlight Babolats of yours?? :p

@djNEiGht @3loudboys gentlemen, she is *ahem* pretty damn heavy as it is. I'm thinking of getting the regular MG Radical MP grommets. Don't think I can handle CAPs on her.

lol, they were stock 2013 APD. And definitely no, not going heavy. Just some quarantine past time photos. In fact, I got my behind properly handed to me today by a guy on the team who is usually pretty even with me. Could barely serve, was always late to the ball, felt a clear lack of power and high balls were tearing up my shoulder with my iPrestiges. They are fun to have in collection and for casual hitting given how amazing they feel, but no way in matchplay for me. I'm not worthy of those and the other legendary heavier old school racquets.

Oohh. Your PT 2.0 is here, nice! Thoughts, feedback? Did you get a chance to hit? Also what's the third one? The Artengo?
haha..yes, how did you guess? :-D Just arrived this afternoon and i slapped on a leather grip and OG. Tomorrow there is rain so thinking of dropping off at stringer for more conducive string at low tension.
