Post Pictures of your Racquets and Tennis Gear

OMG I can’t believe this thread is still active for 17 years? Wow! I use to be active here and frequently posted back when POGO posted this thread in 2005. Wow it’s like coming back to visit the old neighborhood. I see new members and seeing some familiar ones. Ahhhh memories indeed.

Which one do you like most?

I'm currently up (I think) 78 racquets, but at the moment all in different places around the house so can't take a pic of everything all together.
I've currently got Diadem Nova, Diadem Elevate, Head Boom Pro and Wilson Blade 18*20 (2015). I bought an Angell TC95 16*19 from a guy from France, first time buying from an individual and not a retailer shop.
My next targets are 1 or 2 Pro Kennex rackets, I've tracked 2 that interest me and 1 Tecnifibre, maybe a TF40 and that's it for me (I hope). I don't like any racket from the Big Brands to be honest. Maaybe with the exception of Yonex SV95 or Xi98.
If you have any Pro Kennex or Tecnifibre you'd like to sell, send me a message (Europe, Greece).

Nice collection!
Hahahaa, I'm so sorry my friend, out of all my racquets, I don't own a single Pro Kennex or Technifibre!!

Got a new/old stick to have some fun, K Blade 98
Very different from my type of racquets (I'm a Pro Staff 6.0 95 long time user), and I had a bad experience with a K Blade 98 a few years ago.
Got to be weighted up a bit, and choose the right string for it
Almost a classic, but still around on ATP Tour

Edit: around 5 minuts hit last week, the racquet has a nice feeling - very different from my 6.0 95's, obviously - and strings are way tighter than I would like in a 18x20.
My biggest concern is the balance, these Blades are very even to head heavy balanced, so my first move is weight it up with bluetack inside the handle, 10 grams for start.
there's plenty of room for customization, the racquet should be around 315 grams strung, way far from my 6.0's 95 weight. with the right mods, and wise string choice, I can have an easier alternative to my 6.0 when things ask for a bit of help.
If not, I'll put it in the market

These are my aero storm gt’s that I play with :). I have two pro stocks (and looking for a yellow or green pure aero pj if anyone has one ;)). All strung besides one with tourna big hitter 17 (45-47 tension but may go down). The blackout to the left is pro stock of Roddicks. The only frame not pictured is the 2012 pure drive roddick I played throughout high school with since it’s getting restrung :).

Love the ‘3D’ carpet too!!

So, I picked this up recently. It had a broken grommet, and the string had carved a notch into the string hole. I thought that tubing that hole would both protect the string and frame (which is seems to do), but also thought that it might straighten it at the hole. You can see that there's a wider space between it and the string before it than on the corresponding strings on the other side. Questions: Will playing with it like this, even with the tubing, damage the frame further? And, do you think it's possible to cut that piece of the grommet strip and replace that one hole with an individual grommet (Fittex)? Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Fittex will work great there.

@Soundbyte I would have to pull that broken part out and cut it from the strip, yeah? Any suggestion on which size Fittex I should get?
No. Use a grommet grinder.
I'd have to check what size to use. AM Stringing in YouTube did a video on how to do it and I believe he mentions the 2 most commonly needed fittex sizes.

what string/tension did you put in it?

The racquet was a gift from a friend who had to stop playing due to an heart condition, so I don't really know both string and tension, I didn't changed them yet, but I can try to find what it is strung with.
still has some tension, but strings must be dead - by the way, have a pack of six of his racquets to sell, two of them are nice old racquets (an n-code 6.1 team in almost mint condition, and a Prince Ozone Tour Lite 16x18, with only minor bumper and paint scratches), the other are best suited to beginners or seniors - there's a very light oversize Prince with O Ports, feel free to contact me for more info

I'm not a string expert, I like my PS 6.0 95' strung at 27 kgs, let them loose a bit, and stabilize around 25 kg - full bed of MSV Focus Hex 1.23 in black

This one is 18x20, a tight 18x20 I might say, I'll probably go with something thinner than my MSV, and lower tension.

My last 98 sq,i in 18x20 was a Dunlop AG 300 Tour 4D, I was using around 24 kgs - this blade is a bit stiffer, and it's more head-heavy than I like, so I probably have to weight up the tail a bit too, and start with mid to low tension

I'm not too confident about the racquet, it's very different from my type - I like 95' sq.i. players racquets, control and feeling over spin and power. And I had two previous bad experiences with Blades, starting with the N-Code, and the K I got in the big auction site on a lucky (I thought) bid. I might put it on the sale/trade market if things starting to go bad.

Regna 100! Could just be the honeymoon. RDS 002 Tour was my longest love; those older frames were great when I used a 1hbh, but now I go with 2-hander so the larger headsizes, and twistweights are welcome. If there was a 315g Super RD Tour 100" (2023 revival) with that same triangle beam and layup, that would be the ultimate.

Did you make any modification to your Regna 100? If so, may I ask what was done and the final specification? I just received mine on Monday and it's 314g with an overgrip.

Yep, I made a lot.

  • First, I put a +full-size shrink sleeve on the bare grip (+14g).
  • Replace stock leather grip with the thicker Tennis Warehouse leather grip (+5g).
  • Lead at 12 o'clock, basically spanning 10 & 2 (+7g).
  • Dampener (+1g)
  • "throat grommet" aka grip condom (+1g)
  • Overgrip (+6g)
After strings (17g), final specs:

  • static weight: 346g
  • balance: 32.2 cm (6.5 points)
  • pickup weight (first moment): 112 g*cm
  • swingweight (second moment): 340 kg*cm^2
  • twistweight (moment about main axis): 14.6 kg*cm^2
  • recoilweight (moment about center of mass): 170 kg*cm^2
At least these were my targets using the hanging pendulum method to measure moment of inertia. I'm gonna get a briffidi machine soon to be more precise. Right now I have Tier 1 black knight full bed @ 52 lbs.

Donnay Pro one 97, my new main stick.

Been using Head pro tour as my main racquet for a long time but the Donnay is just (for me at least) the best racquet I have ever used!

Is that the 16x19 or the 18x20? Also, is that the Octacore, or the Hexacore? I just got the Pro One 97 18x20 Octacores... and I need to change the ****ty strings they came with, before giving them a full test. Even with the bad strings, I was blasting balls, and the racquet felt good, but I started getting some wrist pain (I'm hoping it's the bad strings - otherwise I'll have to sell them).

Last thing, how are those Fabrizi racquets? I've been wanting to try them or at least find someone who has used them to hear what they are like.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for the information. I have a long ways to go to match that final specs.

It’s the Hexa 16/19. I normally always prefer 18/20 but for this racquet I went with the 16/19 and I really like it.

The Octa is a must try for me in the future.

Wrist pain, **** not good!

I play Luxilon natural gut 1.3/ Alu power 1.25….26/25kg .

I didn’t choose either this racquet or string because any kind of arm/wrist discomfort.

I just love this set up the most!

I hope you wrist gets better, not fun to be injured.

Yes that’s a couple of Fabrizi’s, really like them but not as good as the Donnay:)

Heh, you should make the mods that suit you. I would recommend 2-3 g lead at 12 though to get the swingweight up to at least 325. Because the Regna 100 is definitely not suited for handling even moderately-heavy balls right out of the box. At my specs, it feels super dense and I love that sensation. In my head I'm getting the power, spin from high weight, but still have a little maneuverability because of the thin-ish beam.

Feel free to PM me if you want more idea/details. Don't wanna clog up the photo thread!

sold all my prestiges When I was a junior sadly but this is currently what I’ve got. Yonex 97D and Gravity Pro possibly incoming?

edit: if anyone is wondering where the pure aero +s came from in a sea of players rackets - i tore my ACL and recovery was about 1.5 years no tennis and 1 year of tennis in a huge brace. i simply had 0 footwork and 0 muscle memory for heavy rackets. coulnd't swing them at all for a little bit. pure aero was perfect for getting back into swinging shape
