Post Pictures of your Racquets and Tennis Gear

Nice. Are the PSLs still 13-14 ounces? Or did you remove some of the wieght? I'm still debating whether or not to take the CAPs off my Radicals. I had three come in today and I customized them the same way I did with my others, minus the CAPs grommets. I'm planning on playing them side by side tonight to see if I like them more that way...

Nah, I stripped 'em all down. The heavy weight felt way better when I had time to set up, but the consistency... wasn't quite there.

I haven't tried caps out yet, I'm planning on doing that soon. Did it make it feel stiffer?
I just don't like the idea of adding weight the way CAPs do... they look sweet, though.

club, you must have elbows of steel. Just checked the specs (stiffness) of the PureDrives and my eyes watered!

I have dealt with TE/GE pain in the past, so no not really :D

But I feel like I can hit very freely and use less arm, when i hit wih the PD and generate tremendous amount of power with it.

I also play with VS Team Nat gut mains and Luxilon Alu Rough in the crosses with it and this feels great !!!

I plan to experiment a bit with Rough maind and VS Team or X-One 17 crosses though.....

Played with BlackCode 18 mains and X-One 18 crosses in it, and it only lasted me 2-3 hours before it broke. But to my surprise I don't have any shoulder or arm/elbow issues with it yet.

I have alwyas warned people against the Pure Drive series if they had a sore elbow/arm - and now that I own 4 of them, I must say that I feel no pain what so ever from using them and I have now used them for 6-8 weeks.

If my TE/GE trouble returns, I will feel it immediately during a game - and so far my arm feels better than ever before.
In fact I had more arm pain 3 months ago, when I played with my 4 Wilson BLX 95 18x20, believe it or not.
I would say the BLX started out great, but after the honey moon ended up being a huge disappointment for me and my game.
I have much better feel and over strokes with my 4 new Pure Drive GT, than I ever had with my BLX 95 18x20 - believe it or not, but that's the truth !!

I might sell my PD GT's next year, but so far I like them pretty much. They grow on me, the right way. The BLX 95 on the other hand grew on me in the wrong direction. Started out liking the BLX's, ended up hating them more or less.

I would still warn people with arm pain aghainst the Pure Drives, but for me they have almost cured my TE/GE pain
Have played twice a week, serving a lot - no arm pain and I hit good volleys too......and my serve and groundstrokes are rockets.......

I get better feel at the net with my 4 Pure Storm Tour GT, and I also still love these racquets, but my Pure Drive GT is also very good at the net.....surprisingly good.....

Your mileage may vary of course - just telling you how I honestly feel ;)

Even though it added some weight, it honestly didn't feel that heavy to me, because I am used to the racket with that weight. I currently have 6 radicals. 3 with CAPs and 3 without, and at the moment I am debating whether I want to continue to use CAP grommets or change back...

Side view...

Sorry the pics turned out kinda blurry...was using a cellphone camera...

Nope i cant, they are the nicest rackets i have ever used. The 70RA is so crisp but the 63RA is so smooth and buttery, both are absolute dreams to serve and volley with

In what ways is it different? Do you mean there is a difference between the Austrian made and China made models? I'm getting an Austrian 630 soon and any info would be much appreciated.:)

Both my PT280 and PT630 are made in Austria. The PT630 models are flexier than the PT280, I say the 280 is in the high 50's flex rate and the 630 is in the lower 50's flex rate.

I would prefer the PT57A over the 280 and 630.

They are all great sticks, and I am happy with them all.

What kind flex are you looking for ?

Thanks.:) I dont mind actually, I played with anything from a Max 200G (flex is about 40?) to a Babolat Pure Control (67 RA). So I guess I'll be happy with either too if that's the only difference. But then I prefer the trekfont PT630 cosmetics.

Red is: 95", 320g, 10pts hl, 63RA, 27", 16x19
White is: 95", 320g, 10pts hl, 70RA, 27", 16x19
Black is: 95", 330g, 12pts hl, 70RA, 27", 16x19

Yep all different, red is by tfar the best so i shall be saving for another of those!

^ YouTek Mids?

I still have a place in my bag for my 1 and only k90.. (lucked-out and spec'd at 12.5... sold the one that was 12.9). Great frame... Not that it makes slicing and drop-shots easier to execute.. which it doesn't.. but the results are more satisfying.

Something about that thin beam, the PWS and extra k-stiffness.

Have you tried the BLX90?

Your thoughts?

I only use the radicals, and I have 2 at the stringer, one of them that I broke yesterday and cut the strings out of (on the bottom, goes to stringer today.) Lead on some has to be taken off, I'll do that in a few days when that frame makes it through the rotation.
I'm probably going to end up selling the 6 PSLs and my K90s.

Wow! you're not kidding about the radicals! I cannot believe someone value this stick this much. hehe

Hey, when do u plan to unload the PSLs? I might be interested.

They're midplus' for when I'm having a bad day ;)

I quite liked the BLX90 but it didn't feel right, I couldn't quite put my finger on it but the k90 felt alot better.

Thanks, I was used to an old 80s Prince flex graphite before it. Total night and day, I have much more control with this one, and can feel much better when I do something right and when I do something wrong.

where did you get the n90's with the shorter handle?

It came with the standard length pallet and I sortened it. The pallet is a very brittle resin material that literally chips off the racket. I shortened it by 1". You have to mark out the point where it would taper towards the angle then file to shape and the material not needed just peels away from the painted handle. I don't like long pallets as I think it's a waste of grip and overgrip plus I have a whole bunch of Fairway Leather grips that are a little shorter than standard length. It seems like butchery but I'll never sell these anyway and I like tinkering with rackets....however, I wouldn't do that to my PS85's!!

Below is the modified pallet.
