Post Pictures of your Racquets and Tennis Gear

What about the Prince?

I overlooked that. It's a Tour Diablo 100 that my buddy smashed after he ran into his doubles partner and rolled both ankles at once.

Next to it is another RDS 001 that I cracked by bouncing it off the court. Yonex used a few different weaves of carbon fiber in different parts of the frame, so it looks really cool with the paint stripped, but it's hard to catch that in a photo.

This is my collection. Like everyone else here, I have a problem :)

racquets-20120126.jpg

I have them ordered by head size:

Prince Vortex SB 97
Wilson nTour Two 95
Wilson kBlade Tour 93 (paint got beaten up, so I stripped it and put on clearcoat)
3x Yonex RDS 001 90
2x Wilson BLX Pro Staff Six.One 90
2x Wilson K Pro Staff 88
Wilson Jack Kramer Staff 85
Wilson Sting 2 85
5x Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 85 (Chicago, Taiwan, China, 2x current reissue)

I always think I have a problem with racquets but then I see pictures like this and can't help but laugh

Hi Seekay,

I've got a few questions. How many racquets in your collection are boxbeam? Do you like boxbeam, seems like you do? Any recommendations on boxbeam racquets apart from Wilson?

Really appreciate the photo looks awesome and is better than my currently two racquet collection no including racquets from < age 10.

Hi Tezuka,

Everything from the new PS 90's on back is a (Wilson) box beam. I've also played with (and sold) both sizes of the Prince Tour Diablo, which has a nice classic box beam.

I view the Yonex's as box-beamy even though it's not a rectangular cross section. They're reasonably flexible with a near constant width all the way through the frame.

I like old-school racquets with a small head size, thin beam, and a fair amount of weight and flex. It's probably telling that I find myself agreeing with Granville every time I read/watch a T-W racquet review.

Most manufacturers have something that fits the criteria, whether or not it's specifically a box beam. I've been sorely tempted to try out the Pacific Vacuum 90, the smaller-headed Dunlops, and the Babolat Pure Storm Ltd. GT (among others), but I have to keep reminding myself that I probably have enough racquets :)

I did get a chance recently to hit with the Volkl PB 10 mid, and it was impressive. It's not a box beam, but it flexes like one. It's a pretty nice modern update to the classic formula.

If you ever do get a chance, grab a PSL! That thing has classic feel written all over it. I love the frame, and if I played a more consistent schedule during the winter, it would be my frame of choice. I used it during my outdoor season quite a bit, and it did wonders for my game, and my arm.

Which bag are you using? I've been looking to grab a new tournament bag since my 9 pack is too small, and yours seems awesome!

-Fuji

donnay 12 pack... absolutely massive bag i love it. not crazy about the black and gold (my old rival high school colors) but if they make it in black and red as rumored this year it will be perfecto

i have the ltd. prestige monstercombi you can kind of see in the back from my days with head... currently housing my old prestiges and radicals, but really just collecting dust

Oh!

Thanks a lot! I carry 6-8 rackets with me out to a tourney, and the Donnay bag definitely seems like the right size.

The monstercombi always looks bulky to me, for some reason.

yea i was never a fan of the shiny bags... but it was better than any they had out at the times. also have ALWAYS hated the head bag staps.

the donnay is a great bag though.

By PSL you mean Babolat Pure Storm Limited right?

Lol. I swear when I get another job I will dish out on the Wilson Leather 6 Pack bag and another $100 of leather conditionor.

Current gear - Yonex 100S with CF/Addiction

BLX Pro Open with Head PPS

Pro Staff 6 Pack Bag (terrible bag, but decent enough for $10)

BLX Team 2 Triple (Awesome bag, can fit my 2 racquets and 10 balls with 2 massive accesory pockets, Looks shiny)

Will Post after my Net is uncapped.

BTW. Fuji, I just got what your name meant xD. Love Fuji. Love Echizen as well, It renewed my love for tennis.

Hey, I'm just curious what your BLX90 is strung with and what tension?

Thanks.

Currently testing strings, the one in the left has a Head Syntetic Gut PPS 18 at 55 lbs. Great string but after 4 practice sessions the string was dead and started to move a lot.

Currently waiting to my bag to arrive in order to string both BLX90 with a Tonic+/Alu power Rough hybrid.

I see you're using pacific gut, what are the main differences between pacific gut and Tonic+ ???

Thanks

Sorry, but I've no plan to sell them. I got them from the bay. The price of these rackets+shipping fee to Thailand was 480$.

But I can give you a clue that I've bought lots of nBlades, 4 1/4, in Vietnam last Feb. Forgot shop's name but they have thier own site. The ones in Vietnam was 60$ each and they're 100% genuine.
And I saw one in tennis shop located at Causeway bay, HK, too.

WHICH TENNIS SHOP IN CAUSEWAY BAY???? PLEASE LET ME KNOW THX!!!

Unfortunately No. The one that expands to 6 is worse quality thinner materials on the inside like the Pro Staff 6 pack bag.

Ok I see fine I'll dish out more cash for the federer 3 bag. Hm or go six pack with the three technologies moisture, heat, earth guard. Although expensive idk that's a maybe or ofc pro staff/ leather. :D Assuming I buy Wilson. But if I get Head then great compartments apparently yonex hm should be fine.

-Tezuka

P.S. Lol that's why ... well tezuka is spin doctor/power player. (Zero Shiki Drop Shot and Hyaku Ren Jitoku no Kiwami (百錬自得の極み?, lit. Pinnacle of Hard Work).

What is ring&roll tuned?

Very nice 'collection' btw
Ring&Roll = German racquet tuner. Located in Stuttgart. Offer the same as e.g. P1, but of course for us Germans a lot cheaper and quicker.

Each racquet is 349 g now strung with OG and dampener. All being 8 pt. headlight. Perfect for me.
