There is still a Borg GOAT camp. Or if he didn't retire.
You can argue about ”potentially” if he had played four slams and didn’t retire, you can even talk about biggest dominance up to the point of his career ending, but this is all speculation. Of course there is no serious argument to have him as GOAT, however you can still admire his 6+5 as the biggest tennis achievement ever given the circumstances.

I can only imagine how his slam record would look like if he decided to travel to Australia every year. Hotter and more humid weather, higher bouncing grass...conditions tailor-made for him. I think he would be even more dominant than at Wimbledon.

Borg still holds the record of 3 Channel Slams, even all in a row. And he also still owns the record streak of 5 Wimbledon titles in a row, which he shares with Fed.
Even if not numerically, one could even argue that he has the best DC record (even if Becker is even slightly better if you just look at W-L).

He's still the record holder when it comes to consecutive wins at Wimbledon, 41. There are other records too, but the point was more about the aura some players have, regardless of the records (which may have been broken).

I am quite annoyed that Djokovic has lost 13 Grand Slam finals to 6 different tennis players. He lost at least 2 GS finals with 4 of them and lost all final confrontations against Wawrinka and Alcaraz. Fed and Rafa have fewer losses in GS finals, losing to only with 3 tennis players and only once losing a GS final to a non-Big 3 player.

Neither would Fed win 8, I mean you throw two GOATs into the same generation, their title count will suffer. Not really an unfavourable thing.
Sampras doesn't win 7 Wimbledon titles, if Federer and him were generational rivals.

Good chance than Sampras would still have 7 wimbledons if he is playing in an era where careers go into the late 30s as a player like today's era & having Fed as a same aged rival.

Pete's serve and shots were like 10 MPH harder than Federer's, this would be an issue. I remember Federer was asked by commentator after 2005 wimbledon why his serve rarely crosses 125 MPH, Fed replied that he focuses more on accuracy. Sampras with the modern racquets would be serving like 130-135 on an avg, definitely the difference in power would be a factor. If Roddick was a more skilled player on Grass then even he would be unplayable for anyone, that extra power makes a difference.

1. Players don't pass out free rackets at the end of a match. Just sweaty towles.
2. The top players don't invite the public to use their private jets and super yachts.
3. The top players unused holiday mansions are not given to the organization "Habitat for Humanity."
4. My dumb wife has found the way to beat me!! Ohhh, the horror! Ohhh, the shame! Will this never end?

(Contrary to nobody's belief) Raul Ramirez was not the best player of the 1970s.

Djokovic was rightfully banned from the '22 AO.
I'm 50/50 on his DQ from the US Open, even though an unintentional act. He did put himself in that position.

Injuries are a part of the game. One can't simply "award" Rafa a percentage of tourneys, including slams, that he missed.

Per Roger and others, losing when holding match points is still a loss. It shouldn't be ridiculed nor overly praised. And you don't suddenly become older on match point.

Aryna Sabalenka, though a great player - a more mobile Lindsey Davenport ? - is not a nice person. She is all smiles and silly/goofy when winning, but is a self-centered bully on court. Oops, wrong thread?

Nadal can give a holiday home and yacht to octobrina and clayqueen. Beatlesfan can do Rune marketing. Neutral son and dking can replace the vacant positions in team Sinner. Kralingen can get Medvedev out of his slump... Exciting times, dearly beloved.
