Post videos of yourself playing well.

Every video starts out with I was tired because I only got 3 hours of sleep, and I played 5 hours before this, and my knee was hurting, and my back was stuff, and the sun was in my eyes, and I wasn't really trying because it's just a warm up, and I'm just getting over the flu, and my strings were really loose, and I was sad because my cat died, and that's why...

Tired of it.

I'd like to post a video, but "I'm just getting used the this new Blade V7 so, I'm not really dialed in yet...."
That's a new one right?

Ehh, screw it, If @Shroud is going to post video than I am too, but keep in mind, the courts surface is totally worn down, the balls are dead, the net is kind of old,
and there were bee's flying around that were agitating me, loud cars driving by, the cicadas were driving me nuts, and the heat in Florida right now is insane....

Your forehand looks good. But you seem very tentative on the backhand. Just bunting the ball back instead of having a nice smooth swing like the forehand. I’m taking it that it’s just down to lack of confidence?

I was hungover this morning and hurt my big toe during a match this week. Allergies kicked in too. Aside from that everything was ok.

Very nice hitting

Your pulling your anchor leg on the bh (left leg), listen to the sound on this one and look at your left leg placement.

Fh anchor leg drag, why your fh wasnt as good during this ralley.

You complain about lazy footwork but actually taking +1 steps :)

Which is perfectly normal when you're completely out of position. You're focusing on a symptom instead of the cause.
He wasnt out of position on those (it was 1vs1 doubles, you start in corner)?? Didnt prep deep enough intially and applied on the end

Edit I get you now, the bh timestamp i linked was when he did it properly, look at some of the other ones

I did mention I was pretty damn hungover, right? I mean, I played 'bout the same as usual, but the excuse stands! :p

Could be your "bad toe" also! Although I must admit, nowhere in you initial post did I read, "I am soliciting advice on my strokes".

Yeah...the toe musta been it.

Feedback happens on most vids, so it's always good to see what's out there. (y)

What string/tension do you use? Also what's the strung weight of that Blade? I love the sound of it, so compact and solid.

String is YTex Square X strung at 52lbs right now. Going to drop it down to 48 next round to test it. Overall strung weight is around 330 and I have 4g of lead in the butt cap. Great stable feel and lots of plow through, but still working on maneuverability.

Thank you. So it's just a medium priced co-poly? Must be the tension then. I remember not liking Head Lynx 23kg/50.7lbs on my 10 yo Blade when I strung it like that 2 years ago. I just kept over-hitting everything. Went to 27 kg/59.5lbs after that and loved the control. I currently have Gosen Comfort at 26kg/57.3lbs and hate how dead it plays. It sounds and feels like I'm hitting with a plastic cutting board. Going to try some more powerful string next but don't know if changing tension downwards would result in too much lost control.

Yeah, tension with poly seesm to be key, and from what I have read in the racquets and strings forums, a lot depends on the string itself. YTex has been solid for me on my 2015 Blades at 52-56lbs, but with the V7 Blade I am thinking 4 pounds off might really let the ball pocket for better pop and without lost control. I won't muck too much with it personally. There is a helluva lot more I can fix with technique and fitness over racquets and strings! :giggle:

I guess I'll just have to face it and learn the feel on lower tension. Maybe by going gradually down one kg at the time it won't be such drastic change? Also, I'm still playing with that same 10 yo Blade and it might be damaged from wear, tear and throwing it around out of disgust for my mistakes who knows how many times. Maybe time for a new stick or two (as I'm contemplating joining the adult league next year)?

Don't know about you lowering tension much more. Power seems to come pretty effortless on your videos with your current setup.

Another cool communal morale-bolstering thread by J011y.

Seeing how 95% of my forum activity is posting video of my play, I'd be a dumdum not to participate once I...truly play well. Maybe disjointed highlights must suffice.

I need to check out all of these shares from everyone else first.

Yes but its more a comment on the weak ass serves he was hitting. FWIW that guy went to Nationals and got bumped to 4.5. Amazing.
It's deep with spin and consistent. That will get you a decent number of points at 4.0 and under.

Well, whaddya know...I played alright today. For me, that is.

Of course, today was the day I missed the correct focus on the camera lens. It's verrry hard to find it in the bright sunlight, so enjoy the blurry winners. I'm in the yellow shorts.

Don't be too fooled...I only won the second set. And it was the second set I've ever won against him.

Nice backhands dtl. Like Shapovalov vs. De Minaur.

The important thing is not whether you win or lose, but how good your highlight package looks. This looked amazing!
