^^^ Thanks for posting BrookylnNY. I was just flipping throw youtube for some 90s vids. Also, do you have a vid for that awesome point with 39 yr old Connors from 1991?

Most awesome court coverage at wimbledon

Simon vs Nadal is my favorite, those 2 are the most entertaining when I saw them in 2008, unbelievable, a bit like Murray-Nadal. Murray-Nadal is my 2nd favorite, basically anytime they play except for on clay.

So a top 20 player with K-Swiss and Prince sponsorships is a clown on court, but seems to be able to beat the other top pros in the world. If he would have made that shot it would have gone in the annals of tennis highlights just like his other shots...You are just a hater...get over it.
No, YOU should grow a pair and get over it. Monfils is a clown on court. You are just his loyal nutthugger. If people are currently bashing Rod Laver in another thread, I dont see anything wrong with criticizing Monfils, who is utter garbage next to Laver.

Oh and no matter what you might want to believe, Monfils failed miserably at that shot. Rather than finding his way into the annals of tennis highlights, he just further strengthened his own image of clownhood.

Really you are going to create a post to bash Monfils...and call me a nutthugger...he makes more money, his ranked higher, and is an exciting player. But I see how a forum poster can feel intimidated by that and start calling people names. And by the way Federer did the same thing, Monfils just jumped and missed.

Are you kidding? Everyone knows he is a clown. Every commentator will mention it, especially after he tries his patented stupid shots. No one said he isn't a good player. But he makes really stupid decisions sometimes. He is a clown.

Really, so you are going to hate on a top 20 player, who just beat Federer in November....

I'm not hating, its just a nickname. I like the guy. He's one of my favorite players, he has all the tools, he just needs to sort them, and them manage his brain a bit better and he is potentially unstoppable.

Ocean: that Sampras/Muster match is an amazing match start to finish, that point is amazing, and Muster's celebration is even better, Pete's transition game in that point is amazing, and Muster really comes up with some great stuff, especially on the dead run.

I had the match on my computer at one point and it just used to remind me how amazing matches can be with two top quality players with contrasting styles competing. I miss that kind of variety in tennis and yes, Sampras' used to really have the most amazing sneak into the net, gliding like a cat, making the tennis court look tiny.

Great thread. We sometimes get so caught up in strokes, we forget what great athletes these guys (and gals) are and how important a never say die attitude is.

Any Nadal match in 2005 in my recent memory. He's "pushing" his way to oblivion in almost every match I see. The 2005 FO final was one of the matches which looked so one-sided in terms of attack and defense but outcome suggested otherwise.

The 2010 FO final was good too. Nadal just put on a counter-punching clinic on clay that day.

McEnroe was ripping Monfils mercilessly during one of his past Wimby matches. He said Monfils plays like a 12 year old or something to that effect. Basically, he is either pushing junk balls or trying to blast crazy winners from 9 feet behind the baseline. He seems to have no rhyme or reason to his game and doesnt really set up his shots. Ive heard alot of commentators say he is simply uncoachable.

Nadal vs Federer AO 2009.

This point is probably the best I know. Or at least the one I like the most. Just unbelievable. Almost every shot a highlight.

I don't care about any Federer/Nadal rivalry as long as they produce tennis like this. Awesome. Why would anyone hate this?
