post your shoes before the shoe warranty claim

Curious if Nike will extend the 6-month period since the local courts are all closed due to coronavirus.
no chance on that.. but they are green lighting quick processing and offering full retail vouchers at the moment. tennis by the way should be allowed. i played yesterday and never got closer than 20 feet from my opponent.. 90% of the tennis courts are locked.. but still have 2 that are open. one by my house and one by my work.

Still have about a month left. Used them for about 3-4 months in rotation with other shoes. Don’t think I can play much in the next month given the restrictions

Thanks for the feedback @norcal @kimguroo and @Uncoil

I agree about wearing through the outsole and showing the midsole for the warranty.

From these pictures, I have already worn through the outsole on the side and already wore through quarter of the midsole. Shouldn’t this qualify for the warranty? Am I looking at this wrong?

Update: I sent in the shoes and got a voucher to order new pair of shoes from New Balance. No questions asked.

I’ve never sent a shoe in but I’ve got some pictures of some cage’s with holes and a vapor that is almost gone.

Vapors don't do warranty exchanges so you are outta luck there..the Cages do but u gotta wear the shoe out within 6 months of date of purchase..

I know. I just love this thread because I love seeing snarled and roughed up tennis outsoles!

Does this count? That is a hole. TW April 18, 2020 purchase. Now have to figure out the warranty return process for NB

K-Swiss has changed their policy, you don't even have to send the shoes in. You fill out a form, provide pics of receipt, hole in outsole etc. If they approve it you pay $10 shipping fee and they send you a new pair.
Get the new pair faster, don't have to hassle with sending them out and get to keep the old shoes.

Sent in form Friday, got invoice for $10 (shipping) on Monday, received new shoes in newest colorway yesterday (weds). Pretty darn efficient and considering I got the original pair in April from TW on sale for $56, that's 2 pair of awesome shoes for $66! No complaints here. Not to mention the original pair has life left too (barely wore through the outsole).

I am about to send off some Asics Gel Resolution 8s. Do I have better chance getting the replacement through the tennis retailer or directly from Asics? The shoes are definitely worn through the sole

If you bought them from Tennis Warehouse, definitely send the shoes back to them. That's what they instruct you to do, and customer service is great. Seems Asics hasn't been so responsive: Asics Warranty Replacement

Wasn't aware people were having these kind of problems. Thanks for the thread (y) I bought them from another big tennis retailer in Texas whose instructions are also to send the shoes back to them. The only problem that I see is that they dont have the Gel Res 8 in stock in the wide version like these ones are.

Yeah I contacted Asics to apply for the warranty and it took over a month for them to send me the sheet. At that point I had already new shoes and the 6 months were up. I didn't even bother to send it in.

Surprise surprise. I got the replacement pair for the Gel Resolution 8 in wide today from the warranty claim. Decided to send them to the tennis retailer instead of asics. Got the same black/blue/cream colorway. Better than the current white one. So happy!

No it’s not. It has to have a physical hole, so not just barely showing of the foam.

So, the companies like Nike are balking at covering their warranty, because the traction of the shoe is compromised the moment there is foam, and not rubber contacting the court surface. There is a clear distinction as to what is there for what: rubber for traction, midsole foam for cushioning.

There IS a "physical" hole in the rubber.

So am I good to send it back?

I bought these cages on 1/4/21 so I have a little less than a month left; but just curious to see if this is good enough.
I have not claimed any warranty for a while but Nike is/was very generous for their warranty.
Anytime you see midsole, it was qualified.
Probably you just rub your shoes a few times in asphalt surface, it will expose more midsole.

Considering the shoes are 9 months old and that's not the outsole, I'm going to go with a resounding "no". Actually what Asics are those? They don't look like Resolutions, so they wouldn't even have a sole warranty.
These are Asics Solution Speed FF Clay. I sent the pictures to tenniswarehouse and they rejected the warranty saying it is due to extensive use. I believe this should be covered, shoes were used under around 60 hours. Even though I am 'running type' of player.

If that happened in an hour or two of use, I can see them possibly honoring a return/warranty.

9 months old shoes?
Why do you believe they should be covered? I'd say if out of the box like that -- Yes. The day you took them out, no.
There is a reason why the sole is covered for 6 months on some shoes...

Warranty is for outsole. If there are problems with other things, probably defective claim but not sure manufacturers will accept those claims.

I thought these things would be covered by warranty ... my bad ..
