Potential health risk?

So yea, I accidently broke a thermometer at home and some mercury fell out. I wasn't thinking, but, I decided to wipe it off with thick paper napkins. I washed my hands with soap to ensure I dont have any one me to ingest or inhale... and rinse my shoes with water to get that mercury tracking off.. if any.

I'm a little worry about my health, really paranoid ... and really dont want to pay a visit to the physician for financial reasons.

Tell me what you think guys!!!

you should be fine. That happened in science class where a mercury thermometer broke and they made a big deal out of it too.

1.) Are you positive it was mercury? Many thermometers (liquid based) nowadays do not use mercury.
2.) Find your local contact (Dep. of Public Health?) that would handle incidents like this, perhaps they can inform you over the phone.
