FEDERER def. AGASSI

I think if Spadea defeats Coria, he has a decent shot at the quarters.
I also think that James Blake has the potential to defeat Nadal.

Interesting first round matchups:

Djokovic vs. Monfils
Verdasco vs. Henman
Fish vs. Karlovic
Rusedski vs. Blake
Coria vs. Mantilla
El Aynaoui vs. Srichaphan
Lapentti vs. Stepanek

Henman has a tough draw, with in-form Paul-Henri Mathieu a potential second-round opponent and Mario Ancic, Marat Safin and Lleyton Hewitt in the same quarter.

No way is Scud making it to the last 16. He will be dumped out early.

Mallise will not sustian his level to get him into the second week. He will probably have an outburst when losing a set or two and tank the match.

James Blake had the potential, then he got injured and bad, little chance to beat nadal.

Fish is gonna blow it early, Davydenko will have a hard time against winner of El Aynaoui vs. Srichaphan (sounds more like a quarter final match)

I'm calling it, Mirnyi beats Safin in third round

Ginepri-Roddick in the second

If you looked at his activity this year on the fast hard courts he is actually showing good form. He has crept back in the top 100 and gave Federer a scare at Cincy. He also reached the final of LA, and was returning Roddick's serve very well throughout the match. Sometimes his serve goes walkabouts and he hands his opponents a break due to lack of mental toughness, but he is improving.

Blake vs Nadal could easily go to 5 sets. Blake has played some 5 set thrillers against Hewitt in the past at the Open and almost had him at the AO this year. James is a crowd favorite and is one of the most explosive players on the tour. "Zero chance of beating Nadal" is wishful thinking on your behalf.

I'll be looking forward to these

While I'd enjoy watching the match, in the past Blake hasn't shown the fitness to play his own game over five sets or over multiple GS rounds -- hence the long, tough losses to Hewitt. JB's game is a little too energy-INefficient for long progress at the slams.

Unless, of course, that's changed.

nice, a projected 4 vs 7 (both americans) in one half, and 1 vs 3 (non americans) in the other. lol is all i can say

im not doubting ur picks, i just find it hilarious how the draw worked out. agassi and roddick both on the weak side of the draw only having to beat each other to make it to the finals. while hewitt once again gets the tougest draw, guess he is thinking twice now about sueing the atp.

Wow, I can't believe Wertheim picked Monfils as a semi-finalist. This is the same Monfils that lost to Koubek yesterday.
