Power crave ... racquet search

I don't usually post this type of thing, but I think I am going through an early mid-life crisis and a power crave. Here are some characteristics of the frame that I am looking to test on my next batch and with string as a nonfactor:

1. Powerful (the more the better)
2. < = 100 sq/in but > = 95 sq/in
3. < = 69 RA strung
4. controllable
5. not brassy and/or hallow
6. < = 25mm beam
7. Not spin-effect, esp or such
8. < = 335 SW

Looking for personal experience. What comes to mind, and please share some thoughts? Humor is welcomed.

Demo a Volkl VS8 315g (and maybe the 300g). I switched from a 2015 Babolat PD+ to this and don't find anything missing other than maybe a couple mph on my serve (and 0.5" of extra length). It meets all the requirements you listed above, plus is extra plushy/comfortable.

I have one strung up with Kev/ZX Pro (61/40 lbs) and it plays great and 2 nights ago I strung another up with Firewire/ZX Pro (47.5/52.5 lbs) and it an absolute dream. But, of course, individual preferences vary so demo demo demo.

Both responses above are good choices. I'd even add the Volkl V Sense V1 even though the head size is 102. Although I haven't hit with the new Prince's the Textreme range has a good feel.

You tried the vense 8 line before..they are not bad actually..they don't get the press here like they deserve...
The 300 needs mods for our spec preference..email me and I can give you my set up..

Angell TC95 16x19 63RA or TC100. Otherwise look toward Volkl or Yonex - SV98, DR98+, DR100+.

Another option could be Wilson RF97A. Ask for 330-335 sw racquet, fits all of your specs and has a huge amount of power.

Referring to the Babolat PD suggestion above, it is less hollow/brassy than previous years but still not on the solid side of the spectrum. It is also not that arm friendly if you have issues. If you are after solid and comfort I wouldn't look toward babolats latest offerings.

why many ppl here said TC 95 63 RA is more powerful than 70RA? I am very confused...

I haven't tried this one but I was going to recommend the DR98+. That thing swings and hits like a baseball bat. Some racquets may have more lively string beds, but on a full cut from the baseline the DR98+ is probably the most powerful racquet I've ever played (noting that I've never gotten into extreme oversized game improvement sticks). I just couldn't deal with the sluggish handling however.

It's funny - there must be something in the water, but i have been contemplating trying out some more powerful racquets to see if i might make a switch. other than the ones listed here (Volkl in particular although i will probably wait for the new line to come out this spring) here's the list i had. I have tried both the SV 98 and 95 - slight preference for the 95. but anyway, here's the list

Dunlop Srixon Revo 3.0 F Tour - i know this is slightly higher RA than your spec, but based on playtesters, the dampened feel mitigated some of the stiffness
Tecnifibre TFlash 300PS - again, slightly higher RA but sounds like from folks it may not feel as stiff
Wilson Burn 95 CV - higher SW than your max, but not sure if your SW cap is a derivative of static weight limit but this is a modest 11.6oz strung which is close to the Yonex SVs i believe. I am 50/50 on this as the primary reason i have stayed away from these types of racquets is i do not want to find out that i have a sensitive elbow and sounds like the CV versions of the Burn may not be the most elbow friendly

Prince Textreme Beast 98 & 100 - i've already tried these, nothing i didn't like, but nothing i absolutely loved from them, they're probably going to be my reference point if i decide to try the ones above

Yonex DR 98+ or Yonex SV98+. Both are great - DR98+ is a bit more maneuverable and with better feel while the SV98+ is firmer, more stable and more powerful. I have both, but have been using the SV98+ more as it is a better racquet for me for match play. These are more maneuverable than a lot of other 27.5 inch racquets and didn't take very long to adjust to from a standard length racquet.

PK frames like the 5G or 7G and their successors. They have plenty of pop and stability stock or modded.

2018 PD. It’s solid. Adding a little lead creates a cannon with moderate control. Hoop feels big though.

Pure Aero is even more powerful, but almost zero control. It’s probably the most powerful with a little lead, but with about -20 on control.

The Plus versions of these are MORE of everything, lead creates the MOST of everything.

Mass behind the ball, lower RA for these are a different layup so more graphite and therefore more swingweight. Average swingweight for a 63 RA 95 is around 300 unstrung. The 70 is lower than this. The same SW is very similar power, just need more lead to reach it. The low RA sucking power is no issue with quality manufacturing. Player frames have historically been lower RA and lower powered by choice and not just because of the RA. Tighter patterns, smaller heads, heavy static weight limiting casual players creating speed etc.

Thank you for all of your inputs so far. I string locally and am very fortunate to have owned and tested more than half of the frames yall mentioned. There are definitely some recommendations that I will have to visit and wanted a second set of eyes, so that I can also make recommendations when clients are inquiring about frames. Yes, there's always the option to demo through TW Demo program, but some people want instant satisfaction and are impulsive. I usually like to give advice based on personal experience and feedback and not just due to specs, so I'll eventually test those frames mentioned above in the very near future.

Hearing something about Snauwaert Grinta 100 is a powerhouse. Here's a thread on it: https://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/index.php?threads/snauwaert-grinta-100.609731/

Big Power? You'll have to go vintage. Prince ThunderStick Mid and OS. ThunderStick Mid is what I typically use. Huge Power. Wilson Profile 110. Huge power and spin when strung with poly at 30 lbs (yes I said 30). Yamaha Secret 04. Huge power, narrower frame than the ThunderSticks and the Profile.

Call me crazy but that's what I prefer. To lend some context I also play with a black RF97A and I got a Yonex VCore SV 98+ 2 days ago. Both great frames but I prefer the ThunderStick Mid overall. I'll probably break out the KPS88 soon. Huge power and weight but serves take time to dial in due to the 88 inch head.

None of my frames would satisfy your requirements however. Good luck with the search!

Also throwing in a vote for the DR 98+. Thing is powerful and comfortable at the same time. But SW is 335.
Serving was so fun; however, I couldn't bring it around quickly compared to other racquets.

some of these suggestions of “powerful frames” are nuckin futs. the extreme pro and pure drive tour are the most powerful i have used, hands down. right behind that are the normal pure drive, pure aero, Dr100.

a racquet like the yonex 330 has a ton of power ... if you can get it moving. otherwise it hits anemic knuckle balls.

No doubts regarding your choices. I am open to what others are experiencing as powerful, which may spark some interests and debate.

It's interesting that you list the characteristics of a control racket but want more power.

I'd put Blade 98 and Yonex DR 98 on your wishlist for those specs.

Who cares about the modern racket. Look at that killer circa 1980 Maggia outfit. Classic 80’s Italian tennis clothes. I wish someone would restart that clothing brand. Vitas rocked that stuff!

Pure Aero plus version.

I have been using mine a year and it delivers on all fronts.
