Power pads

  • seems like you basically have to make your own by cutting up a leather grip into small squares.
1 layer? do you stack 2 together?

  • came across these as well... link 1, link 2
something similar available in the U.S.? if not the 2nd link has reasonable pricing roughly $16 shipped (but not in stock).

  • pojie string extenders / power pads (https://www.stringadvantage.com/)
seems like the reviews are positive. for me it's a bit too conspicuous.
it seems like one of those times equipment might need to be banned for fair play (the head ti.s7 comes to mind).

-its just pieces of leather!! DIY (old belt=lifetime supply)
-if not thick enough, fold it
-several people have posted on this, run a search for more info
-the pojie ones however, are more specific in their purpose

-the better question is : do you feel a difference? (when power pads are installed and/or when you just have a dampener on the racquet??

I bought a 2 ft length of 3/8in leather strips on fleabay or everyone's favorite rainforest vendor for a few bucks and cut them into little quarter inch strips. I've reused em for the last 2 restringings as well.

I don't feel any difference in string performance, though. It just looks cool and does aid a bit in dampening, but it still doesn't dampen as well as a single rubberband and or a simple O dampener.

I 100% use the power pads because I think it channels my inner Federer. It looks cool, differentiates my sticks a bit. Win win in my opinion.

I used a rubberband for years, but I actually like the different ping I get from using the power pads. It doesn't quite piiiiiing like not having any dampener, but it's also not the same as having no sound a la a rubberband.
