WELCOME TO THE TALK TENNIS 2010 BERCY MASTERS POWER PLAY LEAGUE​

Welcome to the eleventh installment of the Power Play League. For the combined Beijing/Tokyo 500 events we had one of our best showings. The fun transferred over to the Shanghai Masters and the Basel/Valencia 500 and now we get all of you to join the Paris Masters 1000 tournaments.

The player/participant picks the winner of a fixed number of matches based on the provided scoring points. The objective of each tournament is to to choose matches that will give you the highest total score.

For the Paris Masters, as it's a Masters 1000, we'll be picking any 16 matches (not all from one round) out of total of 47. All matches will be posted in the thread with scoring points and will also be available in the league file. Please read the Instructions and FAQ for further details. We hope you all join and we can make this bigger and better than our previous events!

Before this tournament officially begins, the plan for the YEC/WTF, here goes:

  1. Only the top eight qualify for the WTF/YEC. (10 is too many since PPL doesn't have that many participants).
  2. Everyone picks six matches out of 15.
  3. Two special caveats:
    • You have to pick one match out of each round of the Round Robin. The other three matches, you can distribute any way you want.
    • You can pick one match out of the six that you're absolutely sure about to double up on. You get double the points for that match. So if the scoring points are (8-15), you pick the player that gets you 15 points and they win, you would get 30 points for that match.
  4. The scoring is as follows: 500 points for the winner, 450, 400, 350, 300, 250, 200, 150 for the other seven. So you're guaranteed 150 points at least.
  5. There's a bonus round where you pick the winner of one out of 16 possible semis match ups before any matches start. We will provide the possible scoring points for all sixteen. If that semi happens and the person you pick wins, you get a 100 bonus points added to your overall ranking (not WTF/YEC score).
