TALK TENNIS POWER PLAY LEAGUE 2017

WELCOME to the 7th edition of MONTE CARLO MASTERS (04/16-04/24)

>> League File <<

HOW TO PLAY:

SUMMARY:

1. Pick winners for 16 matches out of 55 matches.

2. For every correct prediction, you get certain assigned points.
For e.g.: [1] N Djokovic (SRB) vs. [5] D Ferrer (ESP) - (7-14)
If you predict Novak as winner and he wins, you get 7 points.
If you predict Ferrer as winner and he wins, you get 14 points.

3. Whoever gets the most points after 16 picks wins the title.

DETAILED EXPLANATION:

For each round of matches, we assign scoring points to each individual. For example, a match between Novak Djokovic (12,920) and David Ferrer (6,505) would have the following scoring points:

[1] N Djokovic (SRB) vs. [5] D Ferrer (ESP) - (7-14)

For the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, as it's an ATP Masters 1000 event, the player picks the winner of 16 out of 55 matches based on the provided scoring points. The scoring points are calculated by a mathematical formula based on the players’ rankings. The objective of the game is to pick a mix of upsets and "sure bets" that will give you the highest score. All matches will be posted in the thread with scoring points while also being available in the League File. We hope you all join and we can make this bigger and better than our previous events!

REMINDER: You can join at any time (even if you want to pick just the final) but to make all 16 picks for MC, you must make your first pick before the conclusion of the THIRD ROUND.

Yeah, Flashscore is showing that this match started at 4:10, 5 minutes before he made that pick. Hard to know exactly when the first ball was struck.
Nice. I don't think that's even close, but will let @gnana prakash make the call on the @Sereger pick at 15 after the hour. Its been left out.

Thanks for training on the sheet today and glad you'll be helping out even more.:p I help Gnana run Prediction League too so you're indirectly helping and have the tool to put out match fixture there too. Thanks again for the help. Kudos.

He was late on that one. I was online when he picked that.

Ok my 5th pick is invalid. Sorry for messing it up.
Picks 5 -6
1. Robredo
19. Delbonis
That's ok. For future reference we'd prefer you quote the match structure and bold your picks. Its very helpful when entering to see both players so we can assign either "a" for the first player or "b" for the 2nd player. I prefer bold because because this a or b entry is even clearer, but you're fine to do cryptic and colorful picks too. Just show the match structure. Example:
7. Mischa Zverev (GER) vs. Jiri Vesely (CZE) - (8-12)
or
7. Mischa Zverev (GER) vs. Jiri Vesely (CZE) - (8-12) JV in 2

What you did was great by saying you were close to match start time. We had a couple later pickers in prediction league yesterday. One didn't say anything and then you have to go through 13 picks and sort that out. Best option is to shoot a pick in ASAP if you are close and then you could self police by quickly checking the ATP live match or similar tool/ticker. These show the points almost instantaneously and you can come back and reply to your own post and say nope 1 game alreay done I missed it or perhaps if you make it then you can say ticker does not show any points. If its close just say where score is, ex. 0-15 and gnana will split the baby. If you don't have time to self-police, BigD and Gnana have resources as they used today. If you're actively watching the match and in warmup be careful. TV channels may lag as much as a couple minutes so if players are taking serves its time to get the pick in. Of course a comment on warmup helpful when making a closer pick. I've seen the wind blowing or other things that will get me to pick at last second (the one time I did this I lost but ymmv.) Keep playing and enjoy TTW.:p

Wow, Meles, this is a very clear instruction, and damn long too . Notes taken.
But I simply wont make any last minute pick like that anw. I just dont know why I forgot to exploit the Tomic point resource for my first picks.:p
