WELCOME TO THE TALK TENNIS
2011 BASEL/VALENCIA (10/30 - 11/6) POWER PLAY LEAGUE​

Welcome to the fifth, and last, combined PPL event of the 2011 Tennis Year and our second Swiss Indoors Basel & Valencia Open 500 for the Power Play League!

HOW TO PLAY:​

For each round of matches, we assign scoring points to each individual. For example, a match between Andy Murray (7,825) and David Ferrer (4,710) would have the following scoring points:

[4] A Murray (GBR) vs. [5] D Ferrer (ESP) - (8-13)

For the Swiss Indoors Basel & Valencia Open 500, as it's a combined event of two 500 tournaments, the player picks the winner of 16 out of 62 matches based on the provided scoring points. For the combined tournament you MUST pick at least four matches from each tournament. The scoring points are calculated by a mathematical formula based on the players’ rankings. The objective of the game is to pick a mix of upsets and "sure bets" that will give you the highest score. All matches will be posted in the thread with scoring points while also being available in the League File. We hope you all join and we can make this bigger and better than our previous events!

REMINDER: You can join at any time (even if you want to pick just the final) but to make all 16 picks for BASEL/VALENCIA, you must make your first pick before the conclusion of the SECOND ROUND of either tournament.

Thanks for the proposition, woodrow.

The good news is I might be able to post picks as soon as Sunday after all. But it would be either full Internet access or nothing.

Indeed. Nothing wrong with Hamburg. It has a stronger field than Washington, Memphis (which is the real joke among 500 events) or Acapulco for one thing.

I made an error in the scoring points so Jay's correct scoring points have slightly different numbers. Please advise.
